Small Business, No Credit

Of course, because of Nick Fury's dark skin, it's impossible to tell if he's gotten even darker.

Nick Fury and Hill quickly adjusted their mindset. After all, as professional agents, they could easily swallow such taunts, though they were inwardly cursing Charlotte as a bastard.

At this point, Nick Fury knew that his plan to recruit Charlotte was hopeless, but he was still very unhappy that Charlotte treated their plan like a game.

"Mr. Charlotte, you seem to have a different view on our business. Could you please explain why you think our business is a joke?"

Clearly, Nick Fury wasn't stupid; he astutely realized that Charlotte Doyle's sarcasm might contain different information.

Although he didn't believe that there was anything on Earth he didn't know about, with the help of the Kree's technology, the reality was that they still hadn't found the location of Hidden Leaf Village. This made him no longer completely trust the Kree's technology; perhaps there were still things on Earth that he hadn't yet explored.

Charlotte raised an eyebrow upon hearing Nick Fury's words; this Black Egg actually wanted to get information from him for free.

Charlotte made a universally understood hand gesture and then said, "The secrets involved are far from simple. To find out, I'll have to give you a commission, and the price will be much higher than you imagine."

Seeing that Charlotte wasn't taking the bait, Nick Fury hesitated for a moment before saying, "We came in a hurry and didn't bring Energy Block. Would it be possible to pay on credit?"

Charlotte refused, saying, "Small business, no credit."

Charlotte wasn't afraid that Black Egg would default on his debts, but she didn't want to go out of her way to tell him these secrets.

Seeing that Charlotte refused to pay on credit, Nick Fury didn't bring up the topic again. However, remembering Ross's words about the soldiers, he asked:

"Let's put the commission aside for now. Coulson will handle this. He'll be responsible for any commissions that come up later."

"However, there's another matter. I wonder if I could have the body of a military soldier named Blonsky. I'd like to take it back to them, since he's a member of the military."

Charlotte asked in surprise, "Who is Blonsky?"

Seeing that Charlotte didn't seem to be faking it, Nick Fury said seriously, "General Ross said that Blonsky's body is with you and he hopes I can take it back to him."

"As you know, the military is a place where emotions run high, especially for a soldier who died in battle..."

Before Nick Fury could finish speaking, Charlotte suddenly seemed to realize something.

"You mean that yellow monster? It turns out it was a soldier from the military in disguise."

"But the other guy wasn't in my hands. Where could I hide such a big guy? He just suddenly disappeared and ran away."

"If I were the one making the arrests, do you think I would arrest one and release another?"

"There were two such monsters back then..."

Upon hearing Charlotte's words, Nick Fury realized that he had been tricked by Ross.

No wonder that guy retreated so easily. He thought it was the Pentagon's order that worked, but it turns out Ross took the opportunity to shift the blame onto him.

Nick Fury looked at Charlotte intently and asked, "You mean, Ross wanted that yellow monster, and you let that green Banner go too?"

Charlotte and then said, "After that yellow monster suddenly disappeared, the green Banner you mentioned turned around and ran away on his own. We didn't stop him at the time."

Upon hearing Charlotte's words, Nick Fury could no longer hold back and blurted out, "Fuck you!"

Nick Fury knew that Ross would definitely pin some of the blame on him unless he could bring back Blonsky's body.

But judging from Charlotte's words, Blonsky might not be dead at all, and Nick Fury's expression darkened further at this thought.

Charlotte, however, watched the other person with great interest, without saying anything more.

At this moment, Nick Fury stood up and said, "In that case, we won't stay here and bother you any longer."

After saying that, Nick Fury took Hill and left the Agency.

Watching the two leave, Charlotte curled her lip in disdain. "You want to go back to Abomination? That's utterly absurd."

Charlotte then left the Reception Room to return to her room to rest.

Stepping out of Charlotte Agency, Nick Fury and his team of agents boarded the Quinjet with Hill and took off back to Triskelion.

Nick Fury, sitting on the plane, looked at Hill beside him and asked, "What do you think of Charlotte Doyle?"

"And what he said earlier."

Upon hearing the Director's question, Hill pondered for a moment before replying, "They're arrogant and don't take us seriously, or even the military."

"However, he was relatively restrained, and did not become a lawless madman because of his power, but he also did not abide by worldly norms and customs."

"Whether it's his previous profession as an assassin or this title of 'ninja' who is actually extraordinary."

"In Japan, ninjas are a profession similar to assassins. Although I don't know why an extraordinary organization would call itself that, given its name, its Agency, and the bounty missions it's still carrying out, I think there must be some connection."

"As for what he said, it might involve Hidden Leaf Village. After all, he possesses extraordinary strength and has always lived in seclusion. He might really know some secrets that we at S.H.I.E.L.D.. don't."

"After all, our organization hasn't been around for very long."

Hearing Hit's analysis, Nick Fury nodded in agreement, then thought for a moment before saying, "Today's conversation must be kept confidential and not disclosed to anyone. The confidentiality level must be set to the highest."

Hit nodded and said nothing more.

At this moment, Nick Fury was both thinking about how to shift the blame to Ross and pondering Charlotte's words.

Could it be that there exists an organization he is unaware of, protecting the world?

Otherwise, why would he say we were just playing house? Nick Fury was aware of this game of children playing adults.

Playing the role of an adult... protecting the world... is a more powerful organization protecting the world?

The Quinjet quickly returned to headquarters, interrupting Nick Fury's thoughts. He wondered if he was overthinking things, or if Charlotte simply looked down on their organization.
