Asgard's Treasury (Part 2)
Charlotte upon hearing Odin's words, but said nothing more.
He is the first Prime Merlinian, and he is free to dress however he wants; no one can stop him.
Seeing that Charlotte remained silent, Odin Gate of Opening: "I've called you here today because I have something I need your help with."
Charlotte looked at Odin, but did not immediately agree.
"If even All-Father Odin, couldn't do it, I suppose I can't be of much help either."
Odin laughed and said, "It's nothing serious, and it's very simple for you."
"How so?"
"I suppose you already saw the Bifrost broken when you came in."
"With the Bifrost shattered, the beings of other realms will likely use this as a pretext to rebel. I hope you can go with Thor to the Nine Realms to quell the rebellion."
"Firstly, you can use this to promote the fame of Prime Merlinian, and secondly, I will also reciprocate with a certain amount for your help..."
"In your words, this is called a mission bounty."
Odin originally thought that Charlotte was merely getting acquainted with Prime Merlinian, and that he would let his son meet him to expand his network.
However, Thor's act of smashing the Bifrost made Odin realize that the Nine Realms would no longer be peaceful. Combined with his understanding of Charlotte, this was a good opportunity to join forces with Thor to quell the rebellion. This would deepen the relationship between Thor and Charlotte, and this comrade-in-arms relationship and lasting friendship would be even more enduring.
All Odin had to give up were some of the treasures from his vast treasury that he no longer needed.
Looking at Odin's request, Charlotte recalled the memories in her mind about Asgard and the suppression of the rebellion in the Asgard.
As Charlotte pondered, she realized there were no useful memories. The movie's portrayal was also very simple: Thor quelled the rebellion in the Nine Realms in a very short time. In particular, the only instance of suppressing the rebellion in the movie was when Thor arrived at the last kingdom via the repaired Bifrost, smashed a stone golem with Mjolnir, and the golem surrendered en masse.
It's unclear whether the opponent surrendered immediately upon seeing the Bifrost, or whether they were deterred from acting recklessly due to Thor's overwhelming strength.
Charlotte pondered for a moment before speaking, "Okay, but we need to sign a mission Commission Form. As for the mission fee, we need to discuss it in advance."
Odin smiled. "No problem, and the mission won't begin now."
"As for the mission fee, this suppression will involve Nine Realms, but there will be no rebellion in Asgard and Midgard in Middle-earth. In reality, it will involve at most seven kingdoms."
"How about counting the suppression of rebellions in each country as a mission assignment?"
Seeing that Odin seemed very familiar with the operation of his Agency, Charlotte smiled and indicated that there was no problem.
"As for the mission commission, you can obtain one treasure from Asgard's treasury for each mission."
Upon hearing that each mission yielded a treasure, Charlotte was instantly excited, thinking that seven missions would mean seven treasures.
That's Odin's treasury, containing powerful items like the Infinity Stones, the Eternal Fire, and the Frostmourne. After her initial excitement, Charlotte asked, "May I take a look at the treasures in your treasury?"
"No problem, I can show you around first."
"Come with me."
Charlotte followed Odin, and together they entered the vault.
Pushing open the door, Charlotte was momentarily blinded by the dazzling, multicolored light that filled the treasure vault.
As the light faded, Charlotte was able to see the interior of the treasure vault.
Each stone pillar resembled a display stand, with an item placed atop each pillar, all covered by transparent magical shields that concealed the energy and light emanating from the items.
Odin walked to the first stone pillar in the treasury, where a stone was placed, emitting a dazzling white light, and its shape was a polygonal rhombus.
"This is Gem from Alfheim, sent by the Light Elves. It's called the Light Stone, and it has the power to heal wounds. When inlaid in weapons and armor, it has incredible effects."
Looking at Odin's description, Charlotte asked, "May I hold it and take a look?"
"Yes, no problem."
Odin waved his hand, and a token made of Rune appeared in his hand, then floated to Charlotte's front.
"Hold this token; once it comes into contact with the magic shield, it will deactivate it."
Charlotte picked up the token in front of her, glanced at the Rune on it, but gained nothing, and the system didn't send any notification.
The moment the token in his hand touched the magic shield, the magic shield on the Light Stone vanished instantly, and with the disappearance of the magic shield, a warm white light suddenly burst forth from the Light Stone.
Feeling the warm white light, Charlotte exclaimed in amazement, "This stone actually has the effect of healing injuries and regulating qi and blood!"
Odin, who was standing nearby, nodded in agreement with Charlotte's statement.
Charlotte reached out and grasped the Light Stone in her hand, immediately hearing a system notification in her mind.
"Ding! Items available for recharge have been found. Do you wish to recharge?"
Charlotte ignored the system's prompts; he only needed the system to determine whether he could recharge.
The only drawback is that without recharging, he can't know the value of the Light Stone he possesses if converted into Gold Coin.
After fiddling with the Light Stone in her hand for a moment, Charlotte put it back.
As the Light Stone returned to its place, Charlotte's hand left the box atop the pillar, and the magical shield once again enveloped her.
Seeing Charlotte put the Light Stone back, Odin asked, "What's wrong? Are you not satisfied with this item?"
"No, I just want to see the other treasures first."
Odin paid no attention and began to introduce the other treasures in the vault.
The item on the second pillar is a translucent pearl growing on coral, its color a deep-sea blue.
"This is a treasure from Alfheim; it's a rather interesting piece of my collection that I acquired there."
"Water-Avoiding Pearl: Carrying it on your person grants the ability to breathe underwater, and by manipulating it with power, one can part water and avoid the sea."
Even the ocean will part completely before it, revealing the land for you to walk on.
"Of course, the premise is that you have enough magic power, otherwise the sea division period cannot be sustained for long."
Listening to Odin's explanation, Charlotte realized that there were probably no ordinary items in this treasure vault, and each item had its own unique function.
Without the slightest hesitation, Charlotte used the token given to her by Odin to open the magic barrier and took the Water-Avoiding Pearl in her hand to feel it.
"Ding - Items available for recharge have been found. Do you wish to recharge?"
As expected, it was still a good item that could be recharged. Charlotte didn't play with it for long; after confirming that it could be recharged, she put it back in its original place.
Upon reaching the third stone pillar, an oval-shaped, frosty-white Gem rests atop a Gem.
Odin didn't find it troublesome at all; these were all his spoils of war, and he happily introduced the item.
"The Soul-Stabilizing Pearl is a trophy I acquired when I invaded the Hell Dimension."
Upon hearing that it was loot obtained from the Hell Dimension, Charlotte asked, "It must not be an ordinary item."
Odin smiled and said, "Just like its name suggests, it has a unique effect of stabilizing the soul, especially when practicing magic, it will have a very good effect on stabilizing the soul."
"Of course, if someone unfortunately loses their body, it can also be used to stabilize the soul, preventing it from being captured by the dimensions of Hell or heaven."
Did Odin's words imply something deeper? Are the aids to magical practice truly miraculous?
Charlotte didn't stand on ceremony and held it in her hand to feel it. She immediately felt the stability it brought to her soul and also received a system notification.
As Odin continued his explanation, Charlotte experienced the sights firsthand. Among the Gem collection alone, Charlotte saw Gem such as the Sun Stone, the Dazzle Stone, the Azure Water Stone, and the Obsidian, each possessing various other powers. Moreover, all of these Gem collections could be used to make in-game purchases.
Furthermore, Charlotte believed that the number of these Gem was not just one as shown, but likely many more were stored elsewhere, with only the finest pieces being added to Odin's treasury.
Besides Gem, there are still many ores, including meteorite iron, Uru Metal, and other rare ores used for forging equipment.
Charlotte even encountered quite a few materials such as the Dragon Scale, Mystic Turtle Shell, Heaven-Mending Stone, and Golden Phoenix Feather belonging to the Shou-Lao.
Furthermore, the vault contains all sorts of equipment, including magical and technological items, and even spaceships.
Looking at these treasures, Charlotte was momentarily dazzled. If she used all of them to recharge her account, Charlotte's strength would instantly inflate like a balloon.
Let alone Mephisto's clone, even if the real Mephisto came, he was confident he could give Odin a run for his money. Unfortunately, these things didn't belong to him, and even if he tried to take them, he couldn't defeat Odin.
However, Charlotte knew about Asgard's future and believed he had a chance to get his hands on these treasures.
After touring the entire vault, and setting aside the dazzling array of items, Charlotte discovered that she hadn't seen a single treasure she recognized—neither the Eternal Fire, the head of the Fire Giant, the Frostmourne, nor the Infinity Gauntlet forged by Odin.
Charlotte glanced at Odin, then recalled their conversation: the Asgard treasury—yes, it was the Asgard treasury, not necessarily Odin's.
Moreover, Asgard's treasure trove is likely more than just this one; these are merely the tip of the iceberg. After all, Odin, who ruled the Nine Realms for countless years and even once sought to rule the entire universe, and who forged the Destroyer Armor to withstand the Celestials without dying, could not possibly possess only this much.
Even just seeing these things made Charlotte incredibly envious; when would she ever have so many treasures?
"Is there any treasure that catches your eye?"
"If you've decided what's needed, I can prepare it for you in advance."
Charlotte and Odin had reached the entrance of the vault. Charlotte glanced back at the vault and then slowly spoke:
"I like a lot of things, but I'll make the final choice after the task is completed and then pay."
Odin smiled and did not refuse Charlotte's suggestion, but after the vault doors closed, Odin took out a Gem from his hand.
"Consider this Light Stone a gift for our first meeting. Congratulations on becoming Prime Merlinian!"
Seeing the Light Stone in Odin's hand, Charlotte didn't refuse and accepted it directly.
"Thank you, God King!"
Charlotte put the Light Stone back into her Storage Space and asked, "How will I get here when the war breaks out?"
"I don't believe that the Ancient One will send me here and pick me up every time."
Odin glanced at Charlotte, then said, "You can set up a Merlin Array here, the kind that only allows you to teleport. With your magic power, you should be able to teleport yourself here."
Upon hearing Odin's words, Charlotte was taken aback. Odin actually wanted her to construct the Merlin Array here. However, considering the distance, even with the Merlin Array's teleportation ability, it would probably drain his Chakra the moment he was teleported over.
Charlotte's lips twitched slightly. "Looks like I won't be getting a ride from the God King."
Odin shook his head. "The cost of teleportation using dark energy is too high. I'd rather let you choose a couple more items from my collection."
"Then it's settled. Two more items will be added to the collection."
Seeing Charlotte's immediate response, Odin smiled and shook his head, then said, "Alright, then I'll give you two more treasures."
"Your welcome banquet is ready. Now come with me to the banquet."
Charlotte followed Odin to the banquet hall, and the banquet fell silent the moment Odin appeared.
The guests at the banquet immediately rose respectfully and said, "Odin!"
Odin nodded, and at that moment Frigga walked over and came to Odin's side.
"How are you feeling? Are you alright?"
Odin shook his head. "No problem for now."
At this moment, the messenger led Charlotte to sit down beside the Ancient One, with All-Father Odin, and Queen Frigga seated in the main seat.
Odin then raised his cup and said, "Today's banquet is to welcome the Sorcerer Supreme of the Nine Realms and Prime Merlinian."
"A greeting to the two of them for their arrival."
As Odin finished speaking, everyone raised their glasses, pointing them towards Charlotte and the Ancient One.
"Homage to the Sorcerer Supreme!"
"Homage to the Prime Merlinian!"
Charlotte and the Ancient One also raised their glasses and drank with the gods of Asgard.
Odin set down his wine cup and then said, "I hope you enjoy this banquet."
