Coulson Comes Calling
Nick Fury did not give the order immediately, but instead turned to look at Hawkeye, who was standing to the side.
"What level of strength do you think Hidan has demonstrated?"
"How does it compare to Charlotte Doyle and Tsunade?"
Barton thought for a moment, then said uncertainly, "Not sure."
"I didn't see his true strength, but light weapons like pistols and Assault Rifle couldn't harm him."
"He's very fast and has a powerful attack; the stones he throws are more powerful than a pistol."
"If you want to attack him, it would be safer to use heavy weapons or even missiles, but that might only result in a corpse."
"However, small arms are of little use to Hidan and only increase casualties."
"After all, he's a grown-up ninja, not one of those teenage ninjas."
At this point, Coulson added, "According to Temari's information, Yugakure is a small ninja village, and the strength of its ninjas is much weaker than that of the larger ninja villages. Ninjas of the same level are no match for those from the larger ninja villages."
After hearing Barton and Coulson's words, Nick Fury pondered for a moment before finally deciding, "Develop a large-scale capture plan. Capture them if you can, and if not, bring the bodies back."
"Barton, take your men and locate Hidan first. Once you've confirmed his whereabouts, notify headquarters."
"At that time, we will directly dispatch a force of more than 300 people, equipped with heavy weapons, to launch an attack from both land and air. If necessary, we can request long-range missile strikes."
Nick Fury, however, was determined to either not do it at all, or to make it a sure thing. He deployed a large force to bring Hidan's body back. If they couldn't bring back a living ninja, they would bring back a dead one. As long as the body was with S.H.I.E.L.D.., they could still dig out secrets from it.
Furthermore, Hidan is currently operating in Africa, unlike Charlotte, a ninja in New York City. Therefore, there's no need to worry about property damage or civilian casualties when using heavy weapons.
"Coulson, go and visit Charlotte Doyle first. Firstly, to confirm that Jane's safety is completely in their hands, and secondly, to gauge his attitude towards that missing-nin, Hidan."
"Yes, sir." x2
······
the next day.
Coulson drove his car to the entrance of Charlotte Base. As soon as he stopped, Coulson saw several heavily armed men standing at the base gate.
Before Coulson could even get out of the car, a burly man carrying a gun approached him and said:
"You cannot linger here. Please leave as soon as possible."
Coulson gave a professional smile and said, "I'm Agent Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D.., here to visit Mr. Charlotte Doyle."
"Congratulations on the completion of his base. I've brought him a gift he'll like."
"Hold on!"
Upon hearing that the man before him had come to visit Lord Charlotte, the guard at the door tapped his Bluetooth Headset and reported:
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Coulson. has come to pay a visit to Lord Charlotte."
"Okay, got it."
The incident at the entrance was quickly reported to Ginny in the base control room.
Upon hearing that it was Agent Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D.., Ginny had Red Queen move the security camera footage from the doorway over.
"It really is Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D.. I haven't even bothered them yet, and he's already delivered himself to my doorstep."
Ginny spoke directly into the microphone at the control panel, instructing, "Let him in, and take him to the lobby of the Reception Area."
Following Ginny's instructions, the guards at the door received the order.
"Mr. Coulson, please get out of the car."
Coulson, knowing the sheer size of Charlotte's base, asked with some surprise, "Aren't you going to let me drive in?"
"Please get off the bus!"
Coulson picked up a Suitcase from the passenger seat, opened the car door, got out, and handed the car keys to the other person.
"This is my car, please take good care of it for me."
The guard took the key and led Coulson to the entrance of the base. At this moment, two other guards came over, holding instruments, and were about to conduct a body search on Coulson.
However, before the inspection, a guard said, "Please hand over any offensive weapons you are carrying."
"These things will be returned to you after you leave."
Hearing the guard's words, Coulson frowned slightly. Why had Charlotte Base become so strict? He knew that when he was at the Agency before, he always brought grenades and guns in without any problems.
Coulson glanced at the group of people in front of him, took a deep breath, and did not refuse their request.
Instead, he pulled out two pistols and several magazines from his lower back, took out two daggers from his sleeve, and took out several small bombs, no bigger than bottle caps, from his pocket, putting all of these into the basket the guard had brought.
Seeing Coulson pull out his weapon, the guard at the door also became serious.
Coulson chuckled, "I'm a secret agent, so it's reasonable for me to carry some weapons, isn't it?"
An agent with a scanner scanned Coulson, and after confirming there was nothing else, pointed to the Suitcase next to Coulson and asked, "What's this? We need to open it and check."
"This is a gift for Mr. Charlotte, Energy Block."
He knows what it is.
Just as the guard was about to say something, a voice came through the blue earpiece he was wearing.
"OK, there's nothing wrong with this box, no need to check it."
Then he nodded to the others and said, "No problem!"
In fact, Coulson didn't carry many weapons. All the really powerful weapons were in his car, which could easily destroy several houses.
Hearing that there were no problems, a small door on the main gate of the base was opened.
"Come with me, sir."
Coulson followed the guards through the base gates, boarded a four-seater electric sightseeing vehicle, and drove towards the distant buildings.
Sitting in the car, Coulson looked around, taking in everything.
S.H.I.E.L.D.. only had a general understanding of the base and had even sent drones to conduct aerial reconnaissance, but they were shot down as soon as they got close.
The satellite photos weren't very clear either, so Coulson was arguably the first person to get inside.
With a vast lawn in sight and armed security personnel patrolling everywhere, Coulson was quickly taken to the front of the base building.
A waiter was standing at the door. Upon seeing Coulson's arrival, he immediately said, "Please come with me, Mr. Coulson!"
The guards who brought Coulson in the sightseeing vehicle turned the vehicle around and left.
Coulson nodded at the woman dressed as a waitress and followed her into the building.
Coulson curiously observed everything around him. There were quite a few staff members in the base, more than he had imagined, but the space still felt rather empty despite their distribution throughout the base.
The waiter led Coulson to a sofa booth in the Reception Area.
"Mr. Coulson, you can sit here and wait a moment."
What kind of drinks would you like?
Coulson sat down on the sofa, placed his Suitcase on the table in front of him, and then said, "A cup of coffee, please!"
After watching the waiter leave, Coulson sat on the sofa and surveyed everything around him.
