Background

Kumogakure was founded when the First Raikage united numerous ninja clans from the Land of Lightning and neighboring countries. The Yeyue Clan was among the principal founders, while the previous Land of Lightning Daimyo heavily financed the village's early development. That funding helped compensate for Kumogakure's comparatively limited number of bloodline clans. 150

The Yeyue Clan became Kumogakure's ruling family through its power, charisma, and mastery of the Lightning Release Chakra Secret Technique. Smaller clans and civilian ninja united under its leadership; the clan's specialty is Lightning Release-enhanced nintaijutsu and frontal combat. 2 22
