Namo Shakyamuni Bodhi Great Sun Buddha was one of the Dharma bodies of the World-Honored One, Namo Tathagata Jinjue Buddha.
But unlike the supreme Demon-Subduing Venerable King Buddha, born from the World-Honored One's finger, Shakyamuni Bodhi Great Sun Buddha had been nurtured within a blazing sun from one of the World-Honored One's own eyes.
Though he existed, no one in the Great Lingyin Temple knew where he cultivated or where he sat in meditation.
Even Zhenque only learned at this moment that Shakyamuni Bodhi Great Sun Buddha had always been behind the World-Honored One, within that radiant solar disc.
The World-Honored One had commanded Zhenque to awaken Shakyamuni Bodhi Great Sun Buddha now. Jinjue Buddha already knew of the upheaval within the Great Lingyin Temple, and so this Buddha of the present, the Buddhist Sect's sole Dao-Ruling True Yang, had acted.
Above the Great Lingyin Temple, the scorching sun unleashed boundless radiance. Its blazing corona was too dazzling to look upon, its searing light seemingly intent on delivering every demon and evil spirit into salvation. As this sun hung in the sky, not merely the Great Lingyin Temple but the entire Xijue Hezhou Continent felt its blistering heat. All those harboring evil thoughts were instantly vaporized, unable even to utter half a cry.
As the blazing sun hung high, a dazzling stream of golden-crimson flame gradually descended from within it. It did not appear before Bodhisattva Zhenque, but fell straight above the Scripture Pavilion. As that brilliant golden-crimson flame poured into the pavilion, the membrane between reality and illusion, between past and future, was instantly pierced. Beneath that stream of flame, present, past, and future began to merge.
