Background / History
Da Vinci accompanies Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash during Chaldea's investigation of the Sixth Super Singularity. Upon meeting Shiki and Aoko, she openly explains Chaldea's use of Earth-data simulation, the Near Future Observation Lens, and Atlas Institute computational support to repair history. She also invites the pair to travel toward the Holy Capital after hearing that the Lion King may be the King of Knights Shiki seeks. 144 145
While guarding Ritsuka and Mash in the Holy Capital's old city, Da Vinci deduces that Aoko may be an Artificial Heroic Spirit created through technology rather than an ordinary Servant. The prospect of studying this unfamiliar technology immediately excites her. 152
When Lancelot's Purification Knights pursue Chaldea's refugee convoy, Da Vinci volunteers to remain behind as rearguard. She dismantles and repurposes their terrain vehicle, establishes traps and a barrier, and fights Lancelot to buy time for Ritsuka, Mash, Bedivere, and the refugees to escape. Lancelot overpowers and captures her after disabling her staff. 170 171
Da Vinci later reunites with Shiki at the refugee outpost. After investigating the site, she concludes that Lancelot and sympathetic knights likely established it to resist the Holy Capital. Shiki recruits her for his plan to save the King of Knights, chiefly requiring Chaldea's vast mana supply; Da Vinci agrees after learning his objectives and contingencies. 175 176
Her decision places her temporarily at odds with Ritsuka, Mash, and Romani Archaman. Da Vinci maintains that supporting Shiki offers the best chance to repair the Super Singularity, while insisting that Chaldea must not cut off her mana channel. During the ensuing dispute over Bedivere, she refuses to fight and acts as an observer instead. 186 188
Da Vinci supports Shiki through the desert campaign, including providing mana during his destruction of the Holy Lance's “Divine Judgment” and helping him construct the ritual for Aoko's Artificial Heroic Spirit summoning. She later serves as Shiki's spokesperson when presenting the plan to free the King of Knights through Bedivere's accumulated emotions. 182 245 248 249
During the final assault on the Holy Capital, Da Vinci organizes the strategy meeting and fights alongside Mash at the city gates. Using constructed combat equipment, the pair defeats more than a hundred Purification Knights after their Berserk Spells are removed. 255 263
After the Super Singularity is resolved, Da Vinci celebrates the mission's success and helps with post-war work alongside Lancelot. She returns to Chaldea with Ritsuka and Mash when the Singularity is corrected. 290 291 301
Appearance
Da Vinci manifests as a striking European woman whose appearance strongly resembles the subject of the Mona Lisa, though she clarifies that the painting is her work rather than a portrait of herself. Her Servant body is deliberately fashioned with a goddess-like beauty that can distract even Heroic Spirits. 143 175
- European beauty with an appearance compared to the Mona Lisa. 143
- Maintains a “perfect,” goddess-like physique through her Golden Rule (Body) skill. 175
- Commonly carries a large magic staff in combat and item construction. 171
- Can manifest specialized equipment directly for battle or utility. 263 296
Personality
Da Vinci is intensely curious, particularly toward new technology, Magic, and abilities she cannot readily explain. Her interest in Shiki's Rainbow Magic Eye and Artificial Heroic Spirit technology is genuine enough that she eagerly assists with experiments despite not fully understanding the underlying magical principles. 152 200 245
She is playful, vain, and fond of referring to herself as “your dear Da Vinci,” often pairing confidence in her own brilliance with teasing remarks. Her charm can be deliberately used to distract others, but Shiki's complete indifference to her beauty earns her admiration. 170 175 296
Despite her levity, Da Vinci is pragmatic and deeply committed to humanity's future. She is willing to oppose Ritsuka and Chaldea's immediate wishes when she believes Shiki's approach has a greater chance of saving the Singularity. At the same time, she remains protective of Ritsuka, preventing him from entering battles where his death would endanger humanity's last Master. 186 197
Abilities & Skills
Item Construction — A Rank
As a Caster, Da Vinci can rapidly create and deploy magical tools, defensive structures, vehicles, and improvised weapons. 171
- Built a trap-filled defensive line within ten minutes using both pre-made and improvised items. 171
- Created a fifty-meter barrier, poison gas, explosives, sulfuric acid, liquid nitrogen, smoke bombs, and other battlefield hazards against Lancelot. 171
- Established a temporary camp using Servant-made items and created a magic-powered mountain bike for Ritsuka and Mash. 245 296
- Manifested pile-driver-like combat equipment to fight Purification Knights. 263
- Crafted Shiki's white armor, blue cape, cosmetic contact lens, and temporary golden hair dye for the Holy Capital operation. 255
Engineering and Analysis
Da Vinci combines historical genius, modern Chaldea knowledge, and Magecraft expertise to analyze threats and build practical solutions. 230 236
- Identified the extreme danger posed by Shiki's Chibaku Tensei after observing its spatial distortion and absorption effects. 230
- Calculated that prematurely canceling the spell could release catastrophic energy comparable to a dinosaur-extinction-scale meteor impact. 236
- Helped devise and inscribe the incantation array used to summon Aoko as an Artificial Heroic Spirit. 245
- Investigated the refugee outpost and inferred Lancelot's opposition to the Lion King's Holy Capital. 175
Magical Energy Support
Da Vinci's existence is supported by Chaldea's considerable mana reserves rather than Ritsuka's ordinary magecraft aptitude. Shiki later relies on that supply as part of his plan against the King of Knights. 176
- Supplies magical energy to Shiki during his infiltration and destruction of the Holy Lance's “Divine Judgment.” 182
- Acts as a mana source while observing Shiki's confrontation with Chaldea and the Mountain People. 197
- Her magic channel is important enough that she warns Romani not to shut it off during the Super Singularity crisis. 186
Combat Limitations
Da Vinci is not a dedicated frontline combatant. Her strength, agility, and endurance are all inferior to Lancelot's, and her Magecraft is poorly suited to defeating a Saber-class Servant with Magic Resistance. 171
- Her traps can impair ordinary targets and cavalry, but do not seriously threaten Servants or Purification Knights. 171
- Her Noble Phantasm cannot be properly activated during her battle with Lancelot. 171
- She compensates for limited direct combat ability through equipment, battlefield preparation, tactical judgment, and teamwork with Mash. 171 263
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Magic Staff — Da Vinci's primary focus for Magecraft and item deployment; Lancelot disarms it during her capture, and she later sacrifices it to produce her Ultimate Bomb. 171 212
- Ultimate Bomb — Her strongest stated offensive measure aside from magical support; created at the cost of her staff. 212
- Modified Desert Terrain Vehicle — An evacuation vehicle extensively altered by Da Vinci for Chaldea's refugee transport. 166 170
- Magical-Energy Observation Device — Used to observe magical energy; destroyed by the Holy Lance's “Divine Judgment.” 182
- Constructed Combat Gear — Includes barriers, traps, toxic gas devices, explosives, and pile-driver-like weapons. 171 263
Relationships
- Ritsuka Fujimaru — Chaldea companion and humanity's last Master. Da Vinci protects him fiercely, though she temporarily opposes his course of action because she judges Shiki's plan more likely to save the Singularity. 170 186 197
- Mash Kyrielight — Chaldea companion and battlefield partner. Da Vinci entrusts her with refugee protection, later fighting beside her against the Purification Knights. 170 263
- Romani Archaman — Chaldea's acting director and Da Vinci's recent colleague. Their disagreement over her independent actions becomes a direct confrontation over the mana channel supporting her. 186
- Hōraisan Shiki — Ally, research subject, and the leader whose plan she chooses to support. Da Vinci is drawn to his Magic Eye, Magic, and Artificial Heroic Spirit technology. 176 200 245
- Aozaki Aoko — An initially suspicious acquaintance whose possible Artificial Heroic Spirit nature fascinates Da Vinci; they later become friends and collaborate in Shiki's group. 143 152 290
- Lancelot — Initially captures Da Vinci after defeating her rearguard defense. They later fight on the same side in the final campaign, and Da Vinci remains interested in his unusual changes and strength. 171 200 291
- Nitocris — A companion whom Da Vinci encourages to remain after the desert crisis so that she can experience the world and make new memories. 245
