Background & History

Zhun Ti cultivated at Mount Sumeru in the West alongside his senior brother, Jie Yin. The Western lands had become barren after Demon Ancestor Rahu detonated their spiritual veins, giving the pair a lasting incentive to gather resources and seek ways to restore the region. 2 49

He and Jie Yin were drawn to Two Realms Mountain by Chen Ku's transformation. Though disappointed to find that the disturbance came from a transformed spiritual root rather than an unclaimed treasure, Zhun Ti supported Jie Yin's decision to accept Chen Ku as a disciple, recognizing the value of both Chen Ku and the Six Roots Pure Bamboo to the West. 2

After becoming registered disciples of Dao Ancestor Hongjun, Zhun Ti and Jie Yin travelled the Primordial World with Chen Ku, teaching him while aggressively collecting spiritual roots, treasures, and other opportunities. 3 4

Personality

Zhun Ti is overtly opportunistic and unembarrassed by his reputation. At a Blessed Grotto-Heaven, he uprooted spiritual roots and ancient divine wood, searched beneath the earth for hidden gains, and only stopped once nothing remained. 4 He later became openly envious of Chen Ku's talent for finding spiritual roots, following him around Buzhou Mountain to request future shares of fruits from the Five-Needle Pine, Fire Date Tree, and Purple Grape Tree. 16

His greed is balanced by genuine investment in the Western Sect and its people. He protects Chen Ku in crises, supports the acceptance of allies into the sect, and presents Chen Ku with a Bodhi Seed that requires one yuanhui to form in order to aid his enlightenment. 113 134 153 As a Saint, he can also restrain his temper for larger strategic reasons; during the Netherworld dispute, he withdrew from a confrontation with Zhurong after sensing obscured heavenly secrets and deferred judgment to Lady Pingxin. 346
