Background / History

Spirit Hall is a continent-spanning Soul Master institution with more than a thousand years of development. It manages civilian Soul Awakening Ceremonies across the Douluo Continent and recruits children with exceptional talent into Junior Soul Master Academies in Martial Soul City 31.

The organization is deeply connected to the Qian Clan. Tuoba Xi attributes the Tuoba Clan’s status and martial-soul inheritance to its service to Spirit Hall and marriage ties with Qian Daoliu’s family; the clan considers itself obligated to repay Spirit Hall with loyalty 2. Tuoba Yan, however, views this dependence as dangerous because he believes Spirit Hall is fated for defeat and its affiliated Tuoba Clan for destruction 2 3.

Under Pontiff Bibi Dong, Spirit Hall is portrayed as a powerful but politically divided force. Tuoba Yan believes Bibi Dong seeks to sever Spirit Hall from the Qian Clan and ultimately destroy both foundations, while many elders continue to support her 3 20. He considers open rebellion or secession from the organization unrealistic, since its policy is described as rewarding obedience and destroying opposition 42.

• Platinum Bishops — High-ranking officials; Tuoba Xi serves as a Platinum Bishop and captain of the Soul Hunting Squad 13 31.

Education and Talent Recruitment

Spirit Hall operates four primary Soul Master Academies in Martial Soul City, one in each directional district. Martial Soul City has no intermediate academy; its unusually high Soul Master population and Spirit Hall’s resources support the primary academies directly 14.

The academies possess Simulated Training Grounds normally associated with Advanced Soul Master Academies. These facilities accelerate cultivation and reproduce different natural environments, though their benefit diminishes as a Soul Master’s cultivation rises 14.

Four Academy Tournament

The annual Four Academy Tournament serves as both a graduation trial and a recruitment event for Spirit Hall.

Spirit Hall recognizes exceptional graduates with direct inner-sanctum admission, resources, Honor Points, Gold Soul Coins, and high-value alternatives such as a 70,000-year Soul Bone 38.

Resources and Cultivation Policy

• Whale Rubber / Whale Glue — Spirit Hall dispatches personnel to purchase it once its cultivation value becomes known. The material can widen meridians, strengthen the body, and help Soul Masters absorb higher-year Soul Rings 9 10.
• Yellow Springs Crystal — A rare substance supplied through an agreement with the City of Slaughter. It is generally restricted to the Pontiff and elders 38.
• Soul Bones and cultivation treasures — High-ranking officials and elite trials can distribute valuable resources, including Soul Bones and immortal herbs 3 38.
• Soul Tools — The organization uses Soul Tools for functions such as amplified public announcements during trials 31.

Law Enforcement and Missions

Spirit Hall maintains bounties on dangerous criminals. Zhao Wuji, whose past crimes and escape from sixteen Soul Emperors embarrassed the organization, is assigned a Tier 7 intermediate bounty; capturing him grants a Yellow Badge Merit Point 47.

During Tuoba Yan’s mission against Zhao Wuji, Spirit Eagle Douluo prevents Flender from interfering, explicitly identifying the operation as Tuoba Yan’s Spirit Hall mission 47. After Zhao Wuji is killed, Tuoba Yan instructs Soto City’s Cardinal to arrange compensation for property damage caused during the battle 50.
