Background / History

Tuoba Yan transmigrated into the Tuoba Clan, a blood-related branch of the Qian Clan and a long-standing affiliate of the Martial Soul Hall. Knowing the future collapse of the Hall and the fate awaiting his grandfather, Tuoba Xi, he resolves to alter the clan’s course rather than blindly serve Bibi Dong or the Qian Clan. 2 3

After awakening his Saint Martial Spirit, Tuoba Yan explains his unusually adult thoughts as a side effect of his mutation. Privately, he recognizes Bibi Dong’s intention to destroy the foundations of both the Spirit Hall and the Qian Clan, but initially withholds this knowledge because no one would believe a six-year-old’s warnings. 3

Tuoba Xi’s willingness to sacrifice himself for the clan deeply affects him. Tuoba Yan consequently makes changing his grandfather’s tragic future one of his central goals. 3
