Intelligence: Lu Mingchuan Fired the Stellar Patrol Light Arrow, and Little Tang San Absorbed a Ten-Year Soul Ring
The Monkey King was pierced through the chest by the arrow and nailed to the ground.
Lu Mingchuan landed nearby. He did not lower his guard, but the Monkey King remained motionless for quite some time.
He could not help wondering, "Hiss, was this Monkey King really done for?"
Suddenly, alarm bells blared in his mind. Without hesitation, he leaped to the side.
Boom!!! A massive red fist smashed into where he had been standing, shattering the ground in every direction.
Still shaken, he looked toward where the corpse had been. Sure enough, the Monkey King's body was slowly dissipating.
"I knew it wouldn't be that simple. It really did have a second form."
He then followed the fist with his gaze and found that it was still the same Monkey King—just a Pro Max red version of it.
Not only had its body grown larger and its fur turned red, but even the wound in its chest had healed.
Lu Mingchuan tested it with an arrow. The Super Monkey King could not even be bothered to dodge, because the arrow could no longer penetrate its fur.
Still, the arrow had some effect. The Monkey King's already crimson eyes became even redder.
Roar!!! The Monkey King opened its mouth and let out a deafening roar. Lu Mingchuan felt his body stop obeying him and inwardly cursed his bad luck.
Seeing this, the Monkey King charged over and sent him flying with a punch. After landing the blow, it let out an angry roar of triumph where it stood.
In the distance, Lu Mingchuan rose while clutching his chest and spat out two mouthfuls of blood onto the ground.
"Damn, it grew this fast? Did it eat Jin Kela or something? That punch nearly knocked me out."
He gripped the Steel Wheel Bow and charged at the Monkey King once more. The two became locked in battle, and amid the fight, Lu Mingchuan grew increasingly proficient with the Whistling Arrow.
After who knew how long, the Monkey King, covered in bloody holes, seized an opening and hammered a fist into Lu Mingchuan's chest. He felt a sharp pain in his heart, and then his consciousness sank into darkness.
When he opened his eyes again, he had returned to the Aftermath of Battle. He rubbed his chest and could not help complaining, "What is with my chest? That Monkey King hit this spot every single time."
He then began sorting through the intelligence.
"That monkey's first form is weak, but its second form is exponentially stronger. When it enters its second form, it releases a clone to confuse its opponent. Its roar in the second form also has a controlling effect."
"But it should only be able to release that clone once. Its defense aside, it has zero defense against the Imperial Bow."
He thought about the Monkey King's forms some more before finally reaching a conclusion: this monkey was purely a stat-check monster. As long as he did not let it get close, he could crush it with ease.
Thinking about his conclusion, Lu Mingchuan almost wanted to slap himself twice. If it had been this weak, why had he bothered gathering intelligence?
If he had simply charged in, he would not have had to suffer through that beating. He pushed open the door before him once again and, after entering, repeated the earlier process.
This time, however, the weapon in his hand had switched to the Imperial Bow. There was not much else to say—Lu Mingchuan with the Imperial Bow and Lu Mingchuan with the Steel Wheel Bow were on entirely different levels.
The moment they met, Lu Mingchuan rewarded the monkey with a light arrow to the head, nailing it directly to the wall behind it. He then quickly walked out of the cave.
He dodged a punch from the Monkey King, which had approached from who knew where, then raised his hand and fired two arrows into its hind legs. The arrows were so fast that the Monkey King could not dodge, directly crippling its mobility.
Then his first soul ring flashed. Lu Mingchuan drew his bow and condensed a light arrow, but unlike the azure-blue arrows from before, this one was different.
It was blood-red, radiating boundless danger.
Lu Mingchuan gently released his fingers, and the Blood-colored Light Arrow flew toward the endlessly roaring Monkey King. Sensing the energy contained within the arrow, the Monkey King began moving with its intact forelimbs, trying to escape its range.
Unfortunately, the light arrow was too fast. Before the Monkey King could move far, it was nailed to the ground. The pain made it roar loudly.
Unfortunately.
Boom!!! The light arrow embedded in the Monkey King emitted a faint red glow, then exploded. Everything within a radius of several dozen meters was enveloped by blood-colored radiance.
"Hiss!!" Lu Mingchuan could not help drawing in a sharp breath at the damage caused by his attack.
"With this power, wouldn't I be invincible?" he exclaimed.
A moment later, the light arrow's eruption subsided. Lu Mingchuan walked over and saw a pit several meters deep in the area where it had exploded. Other than that, nothing remained.
"This soul skill really ground it to dust. It even saved me the trouble of burying it." He shook his head with a sigh, then submitted the mission and exited the stage.
After returning to the space again, he looked up and saw that the door representing the Monkey King was already covered in cracks.
He walked over and lightly touched it with his hand. It shattered apart, and a new door of light appeared where it had been.
He only gave it a casual glance before leaving the Aftermath of Battle. The instant he opened his eyes after exiting, Huang Quan's face was directly before him.
Once she saw Lu Mingchuan open his eyes, Huang Quan pulled away and asked, "I sensed your consciousness leave your body just now. Where did you go?"
After Lu Mingchuan explained the Aftermath of Battle, Huang Quan nodded.
"That really is a good place for you."
Then Huang Quan told Lu Mingchuan some news.
"Tang San and that Grandmaster left the academy just now. It seems they were heading toward the forest we visited before."
Lu Mingchuan was delighted upon hearing this. The two had just gotten together and left the academy, and they were heading for the Soul Hunting Forest. Their purpose could only be to hunt a soul beast.
That meant there was more profit for him to reap. Lu Mingchuan immediately began searching through the System Space.
A moment later, a medicine bottle appeared in his hand, filled with pale purple liquid.
This was a blue-grade item Lu Mingchuan had drawn: Illusionary Scent. As long as the liquid was exposed to air, it would rapidly evaporate. Anyone who inhaled it would fall into an illusion. It was colorless and odorless, making it extremely difficult to detect.
Its only drawback was that it had no effect on anyone above level 35.
After explaining it to Huang Quan, Lu Mingchuan prepared to set off with her. The sooner they left, the better. Who knew whether some butterfly effect might cause Tang San to obtain his soul ring early?
The two first found a ten-year Soft Bone Rabbit. These things were extremely common; they could find a whole bunch just by taking a few steps.
They then followed behind Yu Xiaogang and Tang San with the Soft Bone Rabbit, watching Yu Xiaogang continuously introduce all sorts of knowledge to Tang San.
It was not until dusk blanketed the Soul Hunting Forest that Yu Xiaogang and Tang San began setting up camp where they were.
Huang Quan, standing beside Lu Mingchuan, calmly reminded him, "That snake you mentioned has arrived."
After hearing this, Lu Mingchuan had Huang Quan take him somewhere closer to Tang San. They watched the two struggle against a four-hundred-year Man-faced Demon Spider.
When the two finally defeated the Man-faced Demon Spider, he pulled out the stopper in his hand. The liquid in the bottle turned into wisps of smoke and rapidly vanished.
Lu Mingchuan then saw the two below lapse into a brief daze. Seizing the chance, he killed the Man-faced Demon Spider and tossed it aside, then placed the Soft Bone Rabbit in its place.
