Background

Tang San was a former Tang Sect disciple in his past life and concealed his cultivation techniques after arriving in Holy Soul Village. When Lu Mingchuan witnessed his training at age five, Tang San attempted to silence him but failed because Lu Mingchuan's physique surpassed his own. The encounter established Tang San's lasting murderous hostility toward Lu. 3

He is Tang Hao and Ah Yin's son, inheriting their Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. Tang Hao could not openly train him and arranged for Yu Xiaogang to become his teacher, hoping Xiaogang could guide Tang San's Twin Martial Soul cultivation. 9

Personality

Tang San is intensely secretive and quick to treat perceived threats, humiliation, or obstacles as reasons to kill. He repeatedly fixates on Lu Mingchuan's death, adds Zhao Wuji to his grudges after being defeated, and reacts with resentment when his first Soul Ring proves to be only ten years old. 3 14 27

His concern for Xiao Wu is genuine but often becomes reckless. He restarted Zhao Wuji's assessment after Xiao Wu was injured, attacked Zhao Wuji's vital points with hidden weapons, and later concealed Xiao Wu's Soul Beast aura while prioritizing her protection. 24 95

After his rebirth as a God King, Tang San becomes increasingly self-reliant and overconfident. He dismisses Yu Xiaogang's guidance, assumes his prior knowledge will let him reclaim lost opportunities, and repeatedly underestimates Lu Mingchuan despite their established power gap. 80 89 95

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and an inherited Clear Sky Hammer, though Blue Silver Grass is the Martial Soul he publicly uses throughout his early fights. 4 9

  • Awakened with Innate Full Soul Power. 4
  • His Blue Silver Grass was publicly derided as a weak or “waste” Martial Soul. 4 16
  • He concealed his second Martial Soul from others during his awakening. 4

Blue Silver Grass Soul Skills

His first Soul Ring granted Blue Silver Entanglement, while later rings granted additional restraining techniques. 16 94

  • Blue Silver Entanglement — Forms Blue Silver Grass defenses and bindings; he used it to block one of Lu Mingchuan's arrows. 16
  • Spider Web Restraint — A third Soul Skill intended to trap or slow targets, but Dugu Yan's poison corroded it before it reached her. 94
  • Parasitism — Requires physical contact between the target and his Blue Silver Grass; Tang San could not activate it against Dugu Yan because she never touched the grass. 94

Tang Sect Techniques and Hidden Weapons

Tang San relies on concealed weapons and techniques from his past as a Tang Sect disciple. 6

  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — A movement technique used to evade arrows and reposition during combat. 16 24

  • Sleeve Arrow / Silent Sleeve Arrow — A wrist-mounted hidden weapon; Lu Mingchuan shattered one of Tang San's Sleeve Arrows mid-flight. 16 52

  • Vital-point targeting — During his rematch with Zhao Wuji, he fired weapons at the eyes, throat, heart, knees, groin, and lower abdomen. 24

External Soul Bone

Tang San's Man-faced Demon Spider external Soul Bone transforms his right arm into a spider leg after he channels substantial Soul Power into it. 94

  • He regarded the transformed arm as a decisive close-range trump card against Lu Mingchuan. 95
  • Its attack failed to penetrate Lu Mingchuan's casually formed defense. 95 96

Equipment

  • Twenty-Four Bridges Moonlight Night — Storage belt worn at his waist. 52
  • Hidden weapons and poisoned arrows — Used extensively in combat, including against Zhao Wuji and Lu Mingchuan. 24 53

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — Father. Tang Hao entrusted Tang San to Yu Xiaogang and wanted him to live happily; Tang Hao was later killed in Lu Mingchuan's trap, an event Tang San seemingly sensed from afar. 9 33

  • Tang San initially ignored Lu Mingchuan at Back Mountain, viewing him as an insignificant local, but developed lethal hostility after Lu witnessed his cultivation. 2 3

  • Tang San fought Lu during the Back Mountain challenge, revealing Blue Silver Entanglement before Lu defeated him with an elbow strike and knocked him unconscious. 16

Shrek Academy and Star Dou Great Forest

  • Tang San challenged Zhao Wuji after Xiao Wu was injured during Shrek's assessment, but his hidden weapons and movement techniques failed against the Soul Sage's serious retaliation. 24
  • He continued to pursue Lu, only to be overwhelmed again in a one-on-one wager; his own deflected hidden weapons severely injured him. 52 53
  • In the Star Dou Great Forest, Lu Mingchuan took the Titan Giant Ape's Soul Ring and Soul Bone, then claimed a Man-faced Demon Spider that Zhao Wuji had prepared for Tang San. Tang San's murderous intent intensified. 42
  • Tang Hao's death left Tang San suddenly listless during a Soul Arena match, causing him to be defeated and lose consciousness. 33

God King Rebirth and Tournament Defeats

  • After rebirth, Tang San retained God King knowledge and intended to recover his former opportunities, including the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline awakening. 80 89
  • He found the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well already uprooted, losing the Immortal Herbs and resources he expected to use for rapid advancement. 90
  • During the Soul Master Tournament, Dugu Yan dismantled his team’s plans, forcing Tang San to reveal his external Soul Bone. 94
  • Tang San then attacked Lu Mingchuan with hidden weapons and his Soul Bone, but failed to damage him. Lu incapacitated him and struck with the lightning beast Kirin, after which the Asura God extracted Tang San from the battlefield. 95 96 97

  • Lu Mingchuan later traced Tang San's aura to the vicinity of Slaughter City. Unable to use Soul Skills within the city and unable to evade a locked-on attack, Tang San was killed by a descending light arrow. 101 102
