Leaving aside Shimura Danzō, who was busy bringing those small clans and talented civilian ninja under his wing, Shimura Kentei had already arrived at the Senju Clan grounds.
After giving his name, he was led to his cheap teacher Tsunade's residence by a beautiful, fair-skinned, long-legged young woman with long straight black hair and white stockings.
As one of Konoha's two founding clans, the Senju Clan grounds covered an enormous area. It took quite a while of twisting and turning before they reached Tsunade's residence.
It was an exceptionally luxurious wooden house, and Kentei carefully noticed that it had been formed as a single whole, without so much as a seam joining its parts.
"A creation of Wood Style?"
Thoughtfully, Shimura Kentei recalled a legend. It was said that when Konoha had first been founded, the First Hokage had personally used Wood Style to create a batch of houses for people to live in.
Tsunade's current mansion was probably one of them.
"Where's your sister?"
Upon entering the mansion, Shimura Kentei spotted Senju Nawaki hanging from a tree and doing suspended sit-ups, so he asked.
Seeing Shimura Kentei arrive, Senju Nawaki stopped training. He pulled out a kunai, cut the rope binding his feet, flipped down, and spoke.
"Grandma called my sister over to train the Yin Seal. Before she left, she told me that if you came, I was to take you to our clan's secret pavilion!"
"Secret pavilion?"
"It's where our clan's Secret Ninjutsu inheritances are kept."
After casually explaining, Senju Nawaki set off with a cold expression, preparing to lead Shimura Kentei to the secret pavilion.
Although he was very unhappy about letting this guy enter their clan's secret pavilion so easily, it was an order from that violent older sister of his. He did not dare disobey, or he would definitely get a taste of her Iron Fist of Love.
Naturally, Shimura Kentei would not refuse such a good opportunity. He hurried after him, unable to resist asking along the way, "Is it really okay for me to enter your family's secret pavilion directly like this?"
The so-called secret pavilion was easy enough to understand. It was something like the Shaolin Temple's Sutra Library from novels.
However, Secret Ninjutsu inheritances were the foundation of ninja clans. Outsiders could never be allowed inside, not even when his teacher was the eldest daughter of the Senju Clan.
"The secret pavilion has several levels. This time, I'm only taking you to the first level. It doesn't contain any important inheritances from our clan."
Senju Nawaki casually replied, then fell silent. Before long, they arrived at a wooden building—the Senju Clan's secret pavilion, where all sorts of inheritances were stored.
"Was this also created by the First Lord with Wood Style?"
After examining the wooden building, Shimura Kentei understood that this had to be another work of the First Hokage. Its specifications were far higher than Tsunade's mansion.
Just approaching it made him feel refreshed, and even the exhaustion from wearing his battle suit for so long was swept away.
There was something very unusual about this place!
"Of course. This secret pavilion was created by my grandfather using Sage Art, then reinforced by Grandma's Fuinjutsu. It still contains an enormous amount of chakra even now."
Senju Nawaki's little face was full of pride. Though he had never met that granduncle of his, books had taught him just how powerful the man had been. The title God of Shinobi was no joke.
Unfortunately, Shimura Kentei had no interest in that. He walked straight toward the secret pavilion's closed doors.
"Hey, wait for me!"
When Shimura Kentei ignored him, Senju Nawaki puffed out his cheeks in anger and hurried after him into the secret pavilion.
"Is no one guarding this place?"
Pushing open the closed doors and entering the first floor of the secret pavilion, Shimura Kentei found nothing inside except many tall bookshelves. Not a single person was in sight, which made him rather curious.
Were the Senju Clan really this careless?
"This is the safest place in our Senju Clan. No one can cause trouble here."
With confidence written all over his little face, Senju Nawaki knew the true situation here. Calling it the safest place in all of Konoha would not have been an exaggeration.
"You can read any of the scrolls here. Based on my sister's training progress, she won't be able to come out within a month.
"The stairs to the second floor are sealed with Fuinjutsu. You can't go up, and don't even think about forcing your way through, or you'll face consequences you won't want to see.
"And when it's time to eat, go back to my sister's house yourself. Someone will prepare your meals."
After giving those simple instructions, Senju Nawaki did not dare linger. He slipped out of the secret pavilion in a flash.
He did not want the elder stationed here to catch him, or he would be lectured again.
"The Senju Clan truly deserves its reputation as the greatest clan in the ninja world!"
Watching the rapidly fleeing Senju Nawaki with puzzlement, Shimura Kentei turned his gaze back to the tall bookshelves on this floor. Looking at the scrolls packed densely across them, he could not help sighing.
He had never visited the place where his own family stored its ninjutsu inheritances, but his fiancée had told him that its collection was not even one-tenth the size of this one!
Without wasting any time, Shimura Kentei turned into a human scanner, reading and memorizing the countless scrolls within.
Whether they were scroll inheritances regarding ninjutsu or miscellaneous records left by former generations, he missed none of them.
Thankfully, because of the Spirit Nurturing Technique within the Body Strengthening Secret Technique, he had spent the past few years using chakra and sound waves to train his brain cells. His cognitive abilities had improved greatly, and photographic memory was no problem at all.
The days that followed were much simpler and more tedious. Shimura Kentei lived a routine of two points and one line: during the day, he went to the secret pavilion to read and memorize the scrolls on the first floor; at night, he returned to Tsunade's mansion to rest, while also entering the Black Cauldron Space to analyze and organize the knowledge he had seen that day.
Relying on his photographic memory, he finally finished reading every scroll on the secret pavilion's first floor just before a month had passed.
"No wonder they were so generous!"
After reading the final scroll, Shimura Kentei muttered gloomily.
He had held such high expectations before, only to find that the overwhelming majority of the scrolls merely recorded miscellaneous matters. They covered every conceivable subject, but less than ten percent had any real use.
The highest-level ninjutsu scroll he had seen was only C-Rank. His own family had quite a few of those.
The ninjutsu shown in Naruto might have numbered only a few hundred, but in this real world, there were an enormous number of ninjutsu. The lower the rank, the greater their number.
Although most ninjutsu had overlapping functions, they were indeed separate techniques.
Of course, the month had not been wasted. These scrolls had greatly broadened his knowledge and let him learn many secrets of the ninja world.
But that was only secondary. His true harvest from this visit had yet to be obtained!
"Hope this isn't a trap!"
Arriving before a thick wooden pillar, Shimura Kentei stared at the Senju Clan crest on it. He extended four Chakra Threads and touched the crest. Countless chakra formulas soon spread from it, forming an array.
This was a seal, an extremely complex seal.
While reading and organizing those scrolls earlier, he had vaguely noticed several strange sentences within them. Only after he had finished every scroll did he realize they were part of a final message from the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama.
The message stated that he had left something within this seal, along with a method for undoing it.
Fortunately, the seal did not require hand signs to release. Otherwise, even with a method to break it, there would have been no way for him to do so in his current condition.
Carefully controlling the four Chakra Threads, he slowly dismantled the seal on the clan crest. After an entire day and night, he finally undid it. The crest vanished, revealing a hidden compartment containing a scroll.
"Hashirama's Secret Scroll!"
Seeing the four large characters written on the outside of the scroll, Shimura Kentei's breathing quickened. He hurriedly looked around, then, after confirming no one had come to the first floor, moved to a secluded corner.
"I've struck it rich! I've struck it rich!"
Excitedly rubbing his hands together, Shimura Kentei carefully untied the cord around the scroll and slowly unfurled it.
"Monster Strength Technique!"
The three words before his eyes made Kentei's breathing stop again. He had not expected to obtain the Senju Clan's secret Monster Strength Technique so easily—and it was Hashirama's version.
He had made a fortune this time!
Forcing down the excitement in his heart, Shimura Kentei continued unrolling the scroll, revealing the training method for the Monster Strength Technique.
"Release a tiny amount of chakra through the acupoints and into the body's cells. The more chakra gathered, the stronger the explosive power!"
Huh? That was it?
He continued opening the scroll and discovered that after that short sentence came another ninjutsu called Seal-less Healing. Shimura Kentei blinked his eyes blankly.
"That's all? Is this just a table of contents with summaries?"
Suppressing the unease in his heart, Shimura Kentei continued unfolding the scroll to examine the Seal-less Healing technique that followed.
"Release a tiny amount of chakra to stimulate the body. The more released, the stronger the self-healing ability!"
After reading that sentence, Shimura Kentei refused to believe it and continued turning the scroll, looking at the next summoning technique, Rashomon.
"Use a contract scroll to summon pre-made Rashomon. The more chakra released, the more Rashomon summoned!"
Seeing that it was still merely a useless one-sentence summary, Shimura Kentei's face gradually darkened as he continued reading.
"Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence. Release at least the chakra of ten Tobiramas to grow trees. The more chakra released, the more trees grow. The trees will instinctively bind and absorb chakra-bearing lifeforms."
"Wood Style: Flower Tree Collision. On the basis of Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence, release the chakra of twenty Tobiramas to push the trees to their limit, making them bloom and spread pollen."
"Wood Style: Wood Dragon Technique. Release the chakra of fifty Tobiramas and picture a divine dragon in your mind. A Wood Dragon will then form."
"Wood Style: Wood Golem Technique. Release the chakra of one hundred Tobiramas and picture the form of a human body in your mind. A Wood Golem will then form."
"Sage Mode. Use the chakra within your body to devour the Nature Energy around you, ultimately forming Sage Mode."
"Sage Art Wood Style: True Several Thousand Hands. Consume the chakra of one thousand Tobiramas and picture a thousand-handed Buddha in your mind. A Wood Style thousand-handed Buddha will then form!"
Rubbing his forehead, Shimura Kentei felt that the God of Shinobi had conned him.
It was called Hashirama's Secret Scroll, but this was nothing more than a table of contents with summaries—especially those inhuman phrases about releasing a tiny amount of chakra and the like.
Were you sure that was just a tiny amount, rather than an astronomical amount?
By the end, he had even used Senju Tobirama as the unit for measuring chakra output.
Using Kakashi as a unit of measurement in some Naruto fanfics from his previous life had already been extravagant enough. He had not expected Senju Hashirama to be even more outrageous, directly using his own younger brother, Senju Tobirama, as the unit.
He could only say that the man truly deserved to be called the God of Shinobi!
"Heh!"
Just then, a soft laugh came from behind him. It startled Shimura Kentei so badly that he shuddered, and the scroll slipped from his hand. It was immediately wrapped up and taken away by a golden chain.
"Adamantine Sealing Chains!"
The familiar chains made Shimura Kentei's pupils contract. Though he had not seen them in this world, he had seen them while watching Naruto in his previous life. They were the Adamantine Sealing Chains unique to the Uzumaki Clan.
Moreover, the Senju scrolls he had read earlier contained records about them. These were definitely Adamantine Sealing Chains.
Looking up, he found that the source of the Adamantine Sealing Chains was an exquisitely beautiful young woman with long straight red hair.
Her red hair further proved that she was from the Uzumaki Clan.
But why would someone from the Uzumaki Clan be in the Senju Clan grounds?
"Right, the Senju Clan and the Uzumaki Clan are close relatives, and Mito Uzumaki married Senju Hashirama. It's perfectly normal for her to bring some people to live in the Senju Clan grounds."
Understanding dawned on him as Shimura Kentei roughly figured out what was going on.
"You're quite knowledgeable to recognize these as Adamantine Sealing Chains!"
Taking the scroll from the Adamantine Sealing Chains and rolling it back up, the Uzumaki girl revealed a look of approval.
"Beautiful miss, could you return that scroll to me? I need to put it back."
Putting on a handsome smile, Shimura Kentei held out his hand and asked for the scroll.
Although the thing had disappointed him greatly, it was still a relic of the God of Shinobi. It was better to return it to its original place.
"Beautiful miss?"
The Uzumaki girl froze, then laughed.
She laughed quite happily.
It was the first time anyone had called her a beautiful miss, and the other party was only a little brat. That feeling...
Was rather nice!
