He contracted the Destruction Sickness a long time ago, and to save himself, he proposed the establishment of the Moth of the Fire within the United Nations.
Unfortunately, the Moth of the Fire did not find a solution. By the time the Chang'an Melody emerged, he was already critically ill and essentially waiting to die.
Fortunately, he lived to see the Chang'an Melody. Upon hearing reports that it was potentially effective, he went to witness it once.
Then, relying on his powerful intelligence network, he attended every single performance. After his body fully recovered, he began to assist from the shadows.
Sleepless Chang'an's smooth rise to global superstardom was not solely due to his own strength, but also owed much to the efforts of old K.
He had intended for things to continue this way without them needing to meet, until old K discovered that someone was conducting experiments involving the infusion of Destruction energy. He was so enraged that he smashed his favorite teacup.
Old K was a politician, but he was a politician with principles, and he strongly adhered to the concepts of "people-oriented" and "equality for all."
This is why the Mu Continent became the most developed region in the world.
Even residents from the most impoverished families there could ensure their children received an excellent education.
Take Ye Chang'an, for example. Despite his family's extreme poverty, he could attend the same kindergarten as Eden.
The prosperity of the Mu Continent was evident in all aspects, and none of this would have been possible without old K's leadership.
He was a great leader, and he could not accept these mad scientists conducting such cruel experiments.
So, he took action, apprehending these despicable individuals across the globe, and gathering the severely affected test subjects to have Ye Chang'an treat them.
He didn't even use his authority to summon Ye Chang'an when he himself was being treated, but he initiated his first conversation with Ye Chang'an for the sake of the victims of the experiments.
Furthermore, he didn't haggle over any of Ye Chang'an's requests.
"To legislate the proper use of the Chang'an Melody? Heh, when you get back, we'll discuss how to establish this law."
Old K chuckled and continued watching the live broadcast, as benevolent as a father watching his child.
After all, he had no children of his own.
Faintly, he could hear the melody of Chang'an, its tone so clear it was as if Ye Chang'an was playing right beside him. Old K paid it no mind.
"It seems they're fine now."
Watching Ye Chang'an's smile grace the live broadcast, Mobius closed her eyes in relief and leaned back to rest.
Her body wasn't tired, but her mind was weary.
This was because Ye Chang'an's situation felt like dancing on the tip of a knife; a single misstep could lead to a tragedy.
After all, the condition of those experimental victims was truly dire.
They had obtained Destruction energy solely through their bodies' cravings, and they had done so in an environment devoid of external Destruction energy.
So, where did this Destruction energy come from?
There was only one answer: from within.
The Destruction energy had manifested directly inside their bodies.
Mobius referred to the location where Destruction energy appeared as a Gate.
Wherever a Gate appeared, Destruction energy would surge forth.
If the concentration of Destruction energy became too high, it would trigger a Destruction disaster.
If the Gate appeared outside the human body, it was manageable; the Destruction energy would dissipate and then erode living beings, which is a common type of Destruction disaster.
But if the Gate appeared inside the human body, then the first to suffer from the outpouring of Destruction energy would be that person.
Those with insufficient adaptability would become Shriekers.
Those with sufficient adaptability would become Arbiters.
These were the only two outcomes.
Therefore, Mobius was terrified upon understanding the condition of the experimental victims.
Thousands of experimental victims carrying Gates—if they were to "open the Gate," the consequences would be unimaginable.
"Knowing the risks those people faced and still choosing to perform there... you really are something..."
Mobius sighed, her feelings towards Ye Chang'an growing more complex.
—Why did he have to get married so early?
Faintly, she could hear the melody of Chang'an, its tone so clear it was as if Ye Chang'an was playing right beside her. Mobius paid it no mind.
—They are fine now, so play to your heart's content.
Ye Chang'an glanced at the condition of the experimental victims, confirming that the Erosion Markings had completely vanished before he continued playing with peace of mind.
It felt like a long time since he had played with such passion at a concert.
He had either been accompanying Eden or performing his own songs.
While those were exhilarating, they were still different from this moment.
He quite liked it.
Playing his favorite tunes to his heart's content, the audience was immersed in the melodies he played.
This sense of accomplishment was exhilarating, addictive.
"It's a shame those watching the livestream can't experience the live sound quality. Sigh, if only I could control Destruction energy to transmit sound further."
He expressed a hint of regret.
The world was vast, and there were always places sound couldn't reach.
This was a regret for both singers and instrumentalists.
That's why he had researched a method to use Destruction energy as an amplifier.
It was just a pity that the current amplification range was limited, unable to fully cover even the residents within the city.
"If only I could control more Destruction energy."
Ye Chang'an thought this and practiced accordingly.
Continuously attempting to mobilize more Destruction energy.
But he seemed to have forgotten one thing: Destruction energy is an energy that is consumed. It can be converted into anything, but it cannot be converted back.
Therefore, the amplification method he had been using would continuously consume Destruction energy, while the surrounding Destruction energy remained undiminished.
Ye Chang'an hadn't considered this issue, or rather, hadn't paid any attention to it.
He only knew how to play music, mobilizing Destruction energy as much as possible to transmit the music further and further.
As one song ended, he opened his eyes and scanned the surrounding audience.
A faint blue light could be seen within his dark eyes.
PS
Cocoon of the End: "Hmm? Someone opened the Gate? Then it'll be you."
Ye Chang'an: "???"
PS2: It's great when you guys use tickets to urge me, that gives me more motivation.
PS3: I've decided on the chapter title for the next chapter, "Chang'an, Arbiter." I promised that if the transformation into an Arbiter happened in chapters four or five, it definitely wouldn't go beyond chapter six. But even after becoming an Arbiter, the simulation won't end for another ten to twenty thousand characters. I've written this much, and I don't want to wrap things up hastily.
Chapter of Creation: Journey to a New World: 32. Chang'an, Arbiter
"Heh heh, let's move on to the next song," Ye Chang'an said with a smile after scanning the audience, then closed his eyes to continue playing the next piece.
The audience didn't notice anything unusual about him, nor did he have any self-awareness.
So the performance continued, listening as usual, everything remained unchanged.
Except for the pupils beneath his eyelids, which were growing more and more resplendent blue.

"Mmm, I'm a bit hungry, let's eat something," Mobius muttered, touching her stomach, and got up to prepare some instant noodles for herself.
Mu Continent and Germany have an eleven-hour time difference, and it was almost eleven o'clock on her end.
While preparing the instant noodles, she clearly heard Chang'an's melody, and she felt a little speechless.
"Has my evolution made my hearing so acute that I can hear the livestream sound from this far away?"
Muttering and complaining, she carried her instant noodles back to watch the livestream.
As she moved her chair closer, she suddenly realized something was off.
"Why hasn't the sound volume changed?"
Sound propagation is inversely proportional to distance, so logically, the melody should have gotten louder as she carried her instant noodles back.
But it hadn't; it was just as loud as before.
Something felt wrong.
Recalling how Ye Chang'an had demonstrated using Destruction energy as an amplifier in a previous research session, her face gradually turned a shade of green.
"You didn't actually transmit the sound all the way here, did you..."
Feeling inexplicably flustered, she quickly turned off the livestream sound to test it. As a result, the sound in her ears was still clearly audible.
"My goodness!"
Now she was truly panicked, and she grabbed her phone to call Ye Chang'an.
The call wouldn't go through!

"Sister…" The little girl with short, cherry-blossom colored hair rubbed her sleepy eyes as she stood at the doorway, complaining to her sister who was still watching the livestream inside.
"Can you turn the volume down a bit? I could hear it next door."
"Sorry, Ling, did I wake you?" Her sister, Sakura, with the same hair color, apologized and then lowered the volume.
"It's okay, Sister, I'll watch with you."
Ling shook her head and ran over, squeezing in next to Sakura to watch the livestream together. Sakura smiled and nodded, turning the volume back up.
"Huh? Sister, didn't you just turn the volume back up? Why do I feel like nothing changed?"
Ling asked in confusion, watching with a puzzled expression.
"Uh, it seems like nothing changed."
Sakura also found it strange and tried sliding the volume bar up and down, but the sound by her ears remained steady as a rock.
"What's going on?"
The two sisters couldn't figure it out, and many people around the world were in the same boat, unable to understand.
When the last note faded, Ye Chang'an's special performance concluded.
The scheduled time for this performance was December 24th, from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM. There was still a minute or two left before midnight.
Ye Chang'an had deliberately left this time, as there were still some things he wanted to say during this livestream.
He opened his eyes and stood up. His black pupils completely transformed into a brilliant blue, as dazzling as blue diamonds.
Yet, he still smiled as if nothing had changed, just like before.
