The two later tie for first place in a piano competition, though Eden stops competing after kindergarten while Ye Chang'an continues entering competitions for prize money 2 3.

As teenagers, Eden arranges for them to live together and creates a fully equipped basement practice room in their home. Though she wants their relationship to become romantic, Ye Chang'an initially treats her only as his closest musical partner 3 4. Her eventual confession reveals that she had loved him since junior high school and had even abandoned her dream of singing because of family pressure and her feelings for him 5 6.

After Ye Chang'an reciprocates, Eden modifies the Sword Heart Art into the Chang'an Melody, making a decisive contribution to his resistance against Destruction and later efforts to protect civilization 7 8. Elysium Ever After

An Eden existing as a Memory-body in Elysium Ever After retains memories of Ye Chang'an despite the contradiction between those memories and her reality. She initially believes him to be a drunken illusion, but recognizes him when he plays and sings the Chang'an Melody 121.

After learning that Ye Chang'an transferred the consciousness of their simulated world into a new world before its destruction, Eden entrusts him with her memories and confronts the painful uncertainty of whether she is the same Eden he once knew 122 124. She accepts a new relationship with him despite believing that, as a Memory-body, she cannot remain with the living 124. Eden and the other Flame-Chasers are later transformed into human consciousnesses 126.

Real Simulation and Reunion

Ye Chang'an begins a real simulation partly to find Eden and preserve the era in which Sleepless Chang'an once performed. Eden supports his choice, even as Mobius objects to him seeking another version of her 131.

In the resulting world, Eden has no memory of Ye Chang'an when he first encounters her as a child 136. As she grows older, she develops memory deviations involving a boy named Chang'an, abandons an unfulfilling music contract, and gains public attention by performing “Chang'an Melody” 140.

Eden and Ye Chang'an reunite publicly during one of her concerts. Their duet and his song “Always Remember You” reassure her that he never forgot her; they confess their feelings and decide to marry 147 148. They marry again after Elysia reunites with her parents 150.
