Uchiha Clan

In an underground secret chamber, cold winds blew in gusts, and the flames in two iron braziers flickered brightly and dimly.

Sasuke Uchiha stared fixedly at the stone tablet passed down through his family for generations. It was said to contain the ultimate secret of the Uchiha Clan. Once deciphered, one could become the strongest in the Ninja World.

"What exactly is written on that stone tablet?"

Sasuke Uchiha stared hard at the tablet before him, without the slightest clue.

"You're too weak, my foolish little brother."

A cold voice rang out behind Sasuke, making him shudder.

That voice... Itachi Uchiha!

Sasuke's eyes widened as sparks of hatred instantly flared within him.

"Itachi Uchiha, get the hell out here! I'm going to kill you!"

Sasuke searched all around, yet could not find Itachi's figure. All he could do was rage and howl helplessly where he stood.

"How can you avenge the clan like this?"

A flock of crows flew in from the entrance of the secret chamber, then gathered together and took on Itachi's form.

"I'll kill you!"

Sasuke pulled out a kunai and viciously stabbed it toward Itachi.

Caw.

Caw.

Caw.

The instant Sasuke's strike hit Itachi Uchiha's body, Itachi Uchiha transformed into a flock of crows again. A few seconds later, the crows transformed back into Itachi Uchiha.

"You're too weak. How can you avenge the clan like this?"

"Nirai!"

Sasuke charged in to attack again, and Itachi Uchiha transformed into crows once more.

The cycle repeated itself. Who knew how long it went on? Sasuke's eyes had turned bloodshot from all the killing, yet he showed no sign of exhaustion.

"Hahaha, I killed Itachi Uchiha!"

"Father, Mother, everyone in the Uchiha Clan, I've avenged you! Hahaha!"

In his mind, Itachi Uchiha had already been chopped into pieces and thrown to dogs. Sasuke gradually descended into madness, his face twisted as he waved his arms around wildly.

"Walk slowly on the road to the underworld. I'm coming to find you."

With that, Sasuke Uchiha raised his kunai and stabbed it toward his heart.

"Sasuke, freeze!"

A figure suddenly appeared beside Sasuke. A yellow talisman was slapped onto Sasuke's forehead, and only then did he stop. His eyes went unfocused, and he fell stiffly to the ground.

"Teacher Kakashi, what's wrong with Sasuke?"

Sakura worriedly picked Sasuke up.

"He's under a genjutsu."

Kakashi vigilantly scanned the surroundings, but could not find the one who had cast the genjutsu.

Outside Konoha

Two men wearing red cloud-patterned cloaks, their faces hidden beneath straw hats, slowly walked beneath the moonlight.

"Itachi, you really are cold-blooded. You even used that move on your own little brother."

One of them, a tall man, gave a cold laugh.

The other man remained silent. He merely removed his straw hat, revealing a face no less handsome than Hao the Most Handsome of Blue Star's. He gazed thoughtfully at the moon and murmured, "Forgive me, Sasuke."

"When do we begin the operation to capture the Nine-Tails?"

the tall man asked.

"Orochimaru will soon launch his assault on Konoha. We'll capture the Nine-Tails then."

Inside Konoha's Scripture Repository

Xiao Yun arrived at the third underground level of the Scripture Repository, where many powerful forbidden techniques were stored.

Impure World Reincarnation, Flying Thunder God Technique, Wood Style Compendium, and more—all sorts of insanely cool ninjutsu.

Jonin guarded the Scripture Repository year-round. Anyone who entered without permission would be killed without exception.

Xiao Yun finally found the Wood Release ninjutsu in a corner. The oiled paper around the scrolls was covered in dust; apparently, no one had read them in a very long time.

The system's voice drifted over lazily.

Xiao Yun frowned slightly and opened another scroll.

"Tier 8."

Damn it, there wasn't a single one he could learn. What the hell was this?

He got straight to work. Xiao Yun opened the scroll, and his face instantly darkened. It was all damn Japanese. He couldn't understand a word. He needed a translator.

Tsunade, of course. She couldn't just sit around doing nothing.

"Kid, why learn it here? Why go back?"

the system asked doubtfully.

However, he only understood the first half of the Fire-Wood Killing Technique. As for the remaining 50%, a scene appeared in Xiao Yun's mind: a planet covered everywhere in towering trees. One day, a mass of black fire fell from the sky and ignited the entire planet.

The black flames burned for thousands of years, yet still failed to destroy the trees. As for any other information, there was none.

Xiao Yun asked.

"How the hell would I know? This has never happened before. How strange."

the system replied weakly.

"You're the trash."

"You're trash. Your entire family for eight generations is trash."

The man and the system argued all the way home. By the time they returned to the training grounds, it was deep into the night.

Naruto was still awake, training hard.

"Damn it, these Eight Inner Gates are way too difficult."

Naruto dropped onto the ground and panted heavily.

"What enormous Chakra."

The system suddenly stopped cursing and stared at Naruto.

"Obviously. He has that Nine-Tails monster inside him. How could he not have a lot of Chakra?"

Xiao Yun said.

"Hehe, bastard, your talent is pretty good, but there's too little Chakra in your body. You can't support repeated use of Wood Release ninjutsu."

"I have a way for you to share this kid's Chakra. Want to try it?"
