Background / History

Xiao Yun recalls having been an overlooked nobody on “Blue Star” before becoming the focus of Konoha's political factions. He struggles at first with the sudden attention attached to his extraordinary talent and status. 7

Early in the story, he convinces Tsunade that Senju Hashirama's soul possesses him by demonstrating knowledge of Hashirama's techniques and Tsunade's necklace. Tsunade accepts the claim, while Xiao Yun privately reveals satisfaction at having deceived her. 3

After being proclaimed Konoha's Holy Son, Xiao Yun becomes the target of recruitment by Hiruzen Sarutobi, Danzō, and the Hyūga Clan. To avoid escalating factional conflict, Hiruzen allows him to choose his own instructor. Xiao Yun chooses Might Guy and the Eight Inner Gates. 7 8 9
