After Harvey left, the other guards gathered around Dam.
"Dam, that guy didn't look like an ordinary person in the past."
"I've been a guard for so long and met so many people, but those with the aura of someone in a high position like him..."
"I've only seen two. You should know who I mean. Both are important figures we need to respect."
"Maybe one day, you'll really need to ask him for help."
"Why didn't I go over and ask him just now? Otherwise, that opportunity might have fallen into my hands."
The guards began discussing it, each chiming in with a word or two.
The important figures they spoke of were Danna Saal, a high-ranking officer of the Nova Corps.
And Iraani Rael, the Supreme Commander of the Nova Corps. Both were major figures they needed to respect and look up to.
"Past glory can be destroyed overnight, but building glory..."
"Isn't something that can be achieved just by earning some money through bounty missions."
"For someone like him, he might have been the one posting bounties in the past, rather than the one accepting them."
"People like him have suffered a drastic change. He was already deeply affected, and I accidentally poked at a sore spot."
"So I only said a few encouraging words to make up for it."
Dam paid it no mind. Watching Harvey's figure vanish from sight, he spoke slowly.
"If he hadn't fallen from grace, just that one thing he said to you might have become the turning point of your life."
"What a pity."
After hearing Dam's words, the other guards tried to persuade him.
"I'd like that too, but if he hadn't fallen from grace, he probably wouldn't be here now."
Dam said irritably after hearing that.
"Hahaha, that makes sense."
"Whether it proves useful or not, just remember his name. What if that day really comes someday?"
"His name seemed to be Kassadin?"
"Yes, Kassadin."
"Kind of a strange name."
"What's strange about it? It's precisely because it's strange that he isn't an ordinary person."
The guards continued chatting back and forth.
Most of them had been citizens before this. Their usual work consisted of registering reports. As long as there was no foreign invasion, they would never encounter any danger.
It was just routine registration and inspections, chatting and bragging, clocking in and out of work.
In terms of status, low-ranking gate guards like them were not much higher than ordinary citizens. At most, their benefits were better, and they had no law enforcement authority.
They could not compare at all to those selected for the Nova Corps, who could wear Nova Armor and pilot all kinds of fighters and warships.
They also hoped to join the Nova Corps, pilot fighters and Cosmic Battleships across the universe, earn glorious military achievements, and reach the pinnacle of life.
But joining the Nova Corps required not only talent, but connections. Without connections, one needed either great luck or a knack for flattering people to join the Nova Corps.
Having good connections made the road much smoother. This was something no world could escape.
Meanwhile, after gathering the information he needed, Harvey passed through the passageway and headed into the city.
Harvey was in no hurry. Instead, he observed the surrounding scenery and local customs.
The city on Xandar was extremely advanced and prosperous. Compared to Earth, it was a super-modern metropolis.
There were all kinds of new technologies Harvey had never seen on Earth: discs that could fly while one stood on them, and data investigation devices capable of extremely long-range observation.
From time to time, star-shaped fighters swept through the skies, yet they did not make much noise.
He did not know whether it was due to the fighters' performance or some technology that absorbed sound coming from above.
On the bustling streets, Harvey's attire drew some attention, but no one approached him.
Because they all knew that people dressed strangely like that were usually aliens.
And aliens were either tourists, refugees fleeing disaster, or vicious Bounty Hunters. None of those three were worth getting involved with.
As Harvey searched for the Bounty Bar Dam had mentioned, he discovered that he could understand only some of the languages around him, not all of them.
Clearly, not everyone wore a universal translator.
Harvey had not come to Xandar to destroy the place. He wanted to find some bounty missions, use them as a starting point, raise funds, and establish the Void Cult.
If he wanted to gain a foothold in the universe and establish a major organization, his reputation could not be too bad from the start.
Harvey leisurely took in everything around him and spent more than twenty minutes reaching the approximate location Dam had described.
Just as Harvey was about to start looking, he realized that he could not recognize a single character on the signs or billboards around the buildings.
But he did not care. His eyes turned golden, and in only a few seconds, he locked onto a rather lively bar.
That bar was only one kilometer away from where he stood.
Harvey moved, and in less than two seconds, he appeared at the entrance of the bar and walked straight inside.
The moment he entered, Harvey heard noisy music. Beneath the colorful lights, several scantily clad dancers swayed to the rhythm.
Aliens of all sorts of appearances happily clinked glasses, drank, and admired women together.
Being a bounty hunter brought in money very quickly. For those with strength, it was an especially easy way to make money.
But Bounty Hunting was ultimately a profession that put one's life on the line, so most people who earned money spent it without blinking an eye.
Harvey's arrival only drew a few extra glances. Soon enough, they turned their attention back to the dancers before them or the beauties in their arms.
Harvey passed through the crowd and arrived at a bar counter.
Behind it stood a beautiful blonde, blue-eyed woman wearing a bunny-girl outfit.
Harvey's mysterious yet solemn bearing and distinctive attire piqued her interest.
She immediately took out a transparent screen and scanned Harvey. All she saw was Kassadin, from C53. There was nothing more detailed.
"Sir, are you here to post a mission or accept one?"
After discovering that she could not obtain any more information, the beautiful bunny girl revealed a charming smile.
"I'm here to accept missions. Where do I look?"
Harvey found that he could understand her directly, so he got straight to the point.
"Mr. Kassadin, it seems this is your first time accepting missions."
"You can look at the bounty board on the left."
"I hope that when you return, we can have a drink together."
The beautiful bunny girl looked at Harvey with seductive eyes, her voice soft and alluring.
When she had failed to find any information on him, she had already known that Kassadin was not a famous bounty hunter. He was a newcomer who had only just decided to become one.
But there was nothing wrong with newcomers. As long as he returned alive, he could bring back plenty of money. Then, if they had a drink and spent the night together, she could earn quite a bit.
