"There's a spy!"
That shout immediately drew the attention of the surrounding demons. More than a dozen little demons wielding sharp blades rushed over in a clamor and surrounded them.
The bull demon had no time to look at Chu Liang again.
"Which mountain, which cave are you from?" a little demon demanded loudly.
One wrong word, and they would hack him to pieces with a flurry of blades.
"I'm from your grandmother's cave!" the bull demon roared. He actually struck first, swinging a fist at them.
Bang!
His punch carried tremendous force. It smashed into the little demon's chest, sending him flying dozens of yards before he crashed viciously into the wall of a stone grotto and embedded himself there like a mural.
Literally beating someone into a hanging painting.
That punch had been thrown with such force that as he twisted his body, the pair of massive bull horns atop his head slipped off completely. This bull demon had been disguised too.
"It's a human!" someone shouted even louder at once.
"So he was human too?" Only then did Chu Liang understand what the bull demon had been doing just now.
He must have wanted to infiltrate the inner hall as well, but since he did not know the password, he had decided to strike first and randomly pick a little demon to trick it into revealing the password.
Unfortunately... this big genius had picked him.
"That's right, your Grandpa Bull is human!"
Now that he had been exposed, the man simply stopped pretending. He tore off the fake hair and horns on his head, then shook both arms, ripping apart the false fur over his upper body with a series of tearing sounds and revealing a burly, adamantine body of sculpted muscle.
Shirt burst!
The surrounding little demons charged forward, shouting as they hacked at him. Yet he knocked them down one with each punch and swept them away in groups with each kick, leaving them vomiting blood as they flew, bones broken and tendons torn. A single man carved a bloody path through them with ease.
Yet none of those little demons' blades or spears could so much as touch him.
Watching from behind, Chu Liang could clearly see that this man seemed to be using an orthodox martial cultivation technique.
Martial cultivators placed great importance on foundational fist and foot techniques in the early stages of cultivation. Given two people with equal speed and strength, if one had trained in martial arts, the outcome of a fight would likely be a complete crushing.
The Gang Qi they cultivated through inner force was also somewhat different from the true qi of cultivators from the Three Teachings. It had fewer transformations than true qi, but it was fiercer and tougher.
At the same realm, martial cultivators generally possessed greater destructive power than cultivators of the Three Teachings.
If cultivators of the Three Teachings could still seek the Dao without seeking techniques, pursuing pure cultivation, then martial cultivators had no such refinements. Everything they cultivated had only one goal: to be able to fight.
Among the immortal sects of the Nine Heavens, the Heavenly Gang Sect was a pure martial sect. Its disciples had always been famed for being able to fight.
And that divine envoy had mentioned earlier that his River-Suppressing Halberd seemed to have been seized from a Heavenly Gang Sect disciple... After some thought, Chu Liang roughly guessed the identity of this fierce man before him.
He did not look very old, yet he already possessed at least fourth-realm martial cultivation. Even if he was not the chief disciple of the Heavenly Gang Sect, he had to be one of its core disciples.
In the blink of an eye, dozens of little demons had already been killed or wounded by his hand. The fierce man strode down a trail of blood, killing his way to the inner hall where the congratulatory gifts were stored. There, a great halberd stood conspicuously on display.
His target truly was this.
Seeing the little demons scattered across the ground, dead and grievously wounded, Chu Liang could not help feeling a powerful urge to finish them off with another strike. If the situation had not still been unclear, making it unsuitable to expose his identity, he would have loved to leap out and fight shoulder to shoulder with this fierce brother... specifically as the one responsible for finishing blows.
"Bold human, how dare you cause trouble on my Hidden Forest Mountain!"
A violent tiger roar shook the cave until it hummed without end. Some little demons with weak cultivation were even knocked unsteady and fell to the ground on the spot.
It was the Tiger King, arriving in a fury after receiving the news!
The demon king grabbed the River-Suppressing Halberd and swung it savagely, then leaped forward and chopped down at the enemy with a single halberd strike.
The scorching wind of the halberd swept in all directions, blasting every one of his own little demons within thirty yards away!
"Demon, return my divine weapon!" the fierce man roared. His arms bulged violently, his open palms spreading like cattail fans as he stepped forward.
Boom—
He closed in, actually meeting the great halberd with both hands. He seized its shaft and caught that immensely powerful downward chop!
"Hah—"
The iron-tower-like Tiger King and the vajra-statue-like fierce man each let out a roar as they began exerting force to wrest the halberd away. In an instant, the ground shook and the mountains trembled. Loose stones began raining down from the entire cavern, as though it might collapse at any moment.
The demon kings attending the feast in front, along with some little demons, sensed danger and fled outside in a swarm.
When immortals fought, mortals suffered.
If they stayed near these two hulking monsters as they wrestled, they would definitely be unlucky.
Chu Liang had also intended to avoid them. Just as he was about to withdraw first, he saw the fierce man suddenly fall into a disadvantage.
Both he and the Tiger King had gripped the halberd with two hands, using every ounce of strength in their bodies to wrench it away. But a gleam flashed in the Tiger King's eyes, and something rose from below.
That was right, its tail.
The tiger's tail was like a whip, heavy and powerful. It swept across the fierce man's waist in one strike.
Bang!
The blow sent him flying sideways, rolling several times across the ground.
He was tough indeed. Ignoring the pain, he rolled once more and sprang up from the ground, standing straight again. But the Tiger King's follow-up attack had already arrived. A cold gleam descended from above as the great halberd chopped down again.
"Hah!" The fierce man suddenly barked out a sharp cry. His right fist drew back at his waist, then he thrust it fiercely toward the sky. A gigantic fist of Gang Qi met the great halberd head-on.
Boom—
In that instant, it was as if he had punched open the heavens with his right fist! He transformed into a dragon!
His body leaped and twisted through the air, one leg swinging up to kick the Tiger King in the chest.
Golden light visibly surged, while demon qi spilled everywhere.
"Roar—" The Tiger King let out an enraged howl, twisting in midair as it transformed into an enormous creature!
Its true form emerged—the true body of a black tiger!
In an instant, a black tiger nearly large enough to fill half the cavern appeared. Its golden eyes blazed in fury, its fangs were like swords, and the fierce man standing face-to-face with it suddenly looked tiny.
The black tiger lowered its head and unleashed an innate divine ability.
Tiger Roar!
Its sudden transformation had clearly caught the fierce brother off guard.
"Roar!"
The violent soundwaves were borne entirely by the fierce man in front. Killing Intent surged to the heavens, and it seemed as though he had suffered a spiritual attack, going slightly rigid for an instant.
In that single instant, the black tiger's huge, blood-filled maw descended over his head, about to swallow him whole in one bite!
Bang—
A muffled sound rang out.
The imagined sight of flesh and blood flying everywhere did not appear.
It turned out that the fierce man had recovered in time. With both hands braced upward, he actually held apart the Tiger King's two upper fangs, while one foot pressed against its lower jaw, forcibly... stopping that bite!
"Awoo—" The Tiger King continuously let out furious, muffled growls. Yet despite its biting force, it could never swallow this hard bone.
"Urgh, hah!" The fierce man also grunted deeply. The muscles all over his body bulged to a terrifying extent. A faint blood-colored tattoo emerged over his back, as though a deity's blessing lay hidden within it.
Locked in this stalemate, he could not free himself for the moment either.
After revealing its true form, the Tiger King had become an enormous black tiger with the strength to topple mountains and split stones. The fact that he could contend against it with a human body was already astonishing beyond belief.
The situation had once again become a contest of strength, but if this continued, once the little demons who had fled returned, they could surround and attack him again. That would be extremely disadvantageous for the fierce man.
Watching secretly, Chu Liang finally could not stand by any longer.
With a thought, he took the Red Name-Slaying Sword directly from the White Tower.
From the moment he had first laid eyes on the Tiger King, the Red Name-Slaying Sword had been constantly sending him restless emotions. It had clearly tolerated this fellow for long enough.
Chu Liang raised the Red Name-Slaying Sword and immediately unleashed the strongest divine ability he currently possessed.
"Light split, shadow swept; movement and stillness followed the heart..."
After the savage, explosive one-on-one battle between two men just now, suddenly bringing out a divine ability like the Hundred Swords Art seemed somewhat beneath the occasion.
But Chu Liang's purpose was not to kill the Tiger King. It would be enough if he could affect it even slightly.
As long as it loosened its mouth just a little, the fierce man could pick up the great halberd that had fallen to the ground and escape without much difficulty.
"Hundred Swords Art!"
With Chu Liang's shout, the Red Name-Slaying Sword split apart in midair, and sword light shot forth in an instant.
Just as the Tiger King was absorbed in wrestling with the enemy before it, it suddenly heard someone beside it shout the Hundred Swords Art.
Out of the corner of its eye, it saw Sword Qi streaking toward it.
Actually, it had wanted to laugh.
Having roamed the world for hundreds of years, it naturally knew of the Hundred Swords Art. Such a trifling divine ability wanted to hurt the Tiger King?
But in the next instant, terror suddenly appeared in the corner of its eye.
Wait...
Are you taking advantage of this little tiger because I never went to school?
You call this the Hundred Swords Art?!
