Enmity with Poseidon

Poseidon blinded one of the Whale King’s eyes twenty thousand years before his encounter with Su Chen. In the years afterward, the Whale King only glimpsed the path toward godhood without finding a way to complete it. His ambition to become a god had persisted for hundreds of thousands of years 214 218 243.

His independently cultivated ocean authority made him a threat to Poseidon’s rule. Nevertheless, Poseidon intended to leave him alive as an opponent for the future inheritor of the Sea God’s legacy 194 228.

Despite his reputation, occasional human soul masters still entered the deep sea seeking his soul ring. Xiao Bai described him as stronger than Bo Saixi and so close to divine strength that no Sea Soul Beast knew his true limits 212.

Encounter and Alliance with Su Chen

The Whale King detected Su Chen, Di Tian, and Bi Ji as soon as they entered his territory. He deliberately sent a Deep Sea Demon Whale to guide them to him, hoping that they would not abandon their search. After bringing them to the surface through an enormous vortex, he questioned whether stories of him had disappeared from the continent 213 214.

Su Chen concealed his proposed alliance within a seemingly hostile confrontation, using wind-element Chakra to communicate during their battle. The Whale King demanded proof of strength before considering cooperation and escalated through his human form, dragon transformation, and domain skills 215 216 217.

When Su Chen and Gu Yue Na’s combined power culminated in Tengai Shinsei, the Whale King finally acknowledged Su Chen’s strength. Su Chen dismissed the meteor, and the two descended into the ocean to negotiate behind a water barrier. Provoking the Sea God

Su Chen sent him the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud through the Deep Sea Demon Whales to help provoke Poseidon. During their confrontation, the Whale King mocked Poseidon’s repeated displays of power, briefly altered his aura, and discarded the Shroud while warning that he would no longer serve as a stepping stone for Poseidon’s heir. Poseidon responded by strengthening his surveillance and placing a protective barrier around Sea God Island 222 224 225.

Under that surveillance, Su Chen openly delivered Sage Art Energy as part of a staged performance. When Poseidon’s avatar attacked the whale carrying Su Chen, the Whale King intercepted the lightning with a vortex and enabled the whale to escape.
