George's thinking was simple. Joining the England Quidditch Team now could raise his fame, but he did not want to waste time on training and matches, so he might as well push it back to Fourth Year.
And by the time he was in Fourth Year, Voldemort would already have emerged. When the wizarding world fell into chaos, there would be no need for him to actually waste time on Quidditch training.
It killed two birds with one stone.
"If you don't agree, then forget it."
Seeing Ludo hesitate, George lowered his head again and looked back at his magic book.
When Ludo saw that, how could he dare keep hesitating? He quickly nodded and said, "I agree, I agree. I'll go speak to your headmaster about it right now, and then we'll sign the contract today."

Only, before long, several cries of surprise rang through the entire Great Hall.
"George, you've been accepted by the England Quidditch Team!"
"Oh, look here, it says, 'The head of the Ministry of Magic Sports Department stated that he discovered a once-in-a-thousand-years Quidditch genius at Hogwarts. While still only a first year, he scored thirty goals in a Quidditch match, his talent far surpassing Viktor Krum of the Bulgarian National Quidditch Team.'"
"George, isn't he talking about you!"
"Look at
