Background / History

Xu Gang grew up alongside his younger sister, Xu Yuexian, under Xu Fan's care. The siblings regard Xu Fan as their master and family, while Xu Gang remains strongly attached to his grandparents and home. He later becomes Xu Fan's eldest disciple and the Hidden Spirit Sect's foremost long-range combatant. 61 73

Initially, Xu Gang struggles with refined spell control. Xu Fan notes that he wastes mana, uses poor spell sequences, and relies too heavily on direct explosive techniques. Even so, Xu Gang's straightforward focus makes him particularly suited to Xu Fan's large-scale Secret Arts. 44 69

His cultivation increasingly centers on the Thousand-Hand Phantom and Five Elements-based Divine Abilities. By the time the Hidden Spirit Sect is established, he can suppress tens of thousands of demonic beasts alone in Spiritual Power Armor and kill a Nascent Soul demonic beast with a cannon attack. 109
