Background / History

Xiao Wu entered the human world after her mother was killed by humans. Although she initially held little goodwill toward humanity, kindness from elderly people who gave her food and shelter led her to recognize that humans, like Soul Beasts, could be either good or evil. This experience motivated her to protect older people from swindlers. 4

She first met Mo Lang when she confronted two Soul Masters cheating elderly people with false claims about Soul Beast meat. The men ambushed her after pretending to surrender, but Mo Lang intervened and killed them. Xiao Wu thanked him, helped wipe his nosebleed, and introduced herself as “Xiao Wu, the Wu from dancing.” 4

She concealed her identity as a hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast because she feared that revealing it would separate her from Mo Lang. Her identity was eventually disclosed by Mo Lang to Yu Xiaogang. 34 69

Xiao Wu later learned that Xiong Jun had killed her father, a hundred-thousand-year Blue Jade Rogue Rabbit. She and A Rou were able to avenge him after Xiong Jun’s defeat, and two of his dropped Soul Bones were suspected to have belonged to Xiao Wu’s father. 303 304 309
