First Pass of the Human Race
The First Pass of the Human Race.
The heroes were silent, except for the howls of ferocious birds and beasts, creating an incredibly oppressive atmosphere. The ancient city was filled with a sense of oppression.
"Enter the customs!"
Finally, on the second day after Zhou Tong arrived, a divine thought arrived, echoing like a great bell, shaking many people so much that their bones trembled, their blood surged, and they showed expressions of horror.
"How could it be so fast? It's been less than half a year since the last time it opened! Logically, there should still be more than two months left. Why does it feel like they're making an exception this time?" Some people were shocked. They hadn't expected the doors to open so quickly.
"Half a year is not necessarily a fixed number. I have heard that there must be a strong person who has reached the seed level in order for everyone to enter the gate. Therefore, sometimes it can take up to five years." Someone looked at Zhou Tong, who was standing at the front, and was extremely shocked. This person could actually make the Guiding Envoy an exception and open the gate early?
Many people knew the rules here, and looked at Zhou Tong in shock.
The ancient city gate creaked open, heavy with life. This was a colossal city standing amidst the stars, containing an environment suitable for human habitation.
All the prodigies either urged their mounts on or walked forward.
The ancient city exudes an amazing aura; it is tall and magnificent, with many soldiers guarding it.
However, the number of soldiers was small, and they were all dressed in cold, metallic armor, like squads of heavenly soldiers, eyeing everyone with predatory intent.
These soldiers exuded a terrifying Killing Intent. They were all defeated warriors who had once fought on this road, and had no choice but to become the defenders of this pass.
There was no disturbance during the entry into the city. Zhou Tong was incredibly assertive and took the lead, entering the city directly. Only after seeing him enter did the others dare to follow him in.
"I'm warning you now: once you enter the Human Race First City, even a dragon has to coil up and a tiger has to lie down. No one can run wild here. Anyone who disobeys will be killed without mercy!"
One of the soldiers, tall and dressed in black iron armor, holding a bronze halberd, stared at Zhou Tong at the front. The cold light in his eyes was chilling, as if a Killing Intent was bursting forth.
His tone was very unfriendly, and he was warning Zhou Tong to curb his arrogance.
"I'm also warning you, don't mess with me, or no one in heaven or earth can save you!" Zhou Tong also looked at this person, his eyes filled with an invincible belief that crushed down.
With a single word and a glance, Zhou Tong didn't say anything more and walked straight forward.
"Hmm!" However, with just one glance, this person suddenly felt that Zhou Tong in front of him had changed, as if he had transformed into a giant that Heavenly Connection and Earth Penetration, while he was just an ant under the other's feet, so shocked that he could not move.
Only after Zhou Tong had gone far away did the soldier react slightly, a trace of fear flashing across his face, his arm gripping the bronze halberd trembling.
This man was a loser on the Human Ancient Road, his Dao Heart shattered long ago. Faced with Zhou Tong's terrifying momentum and invincible Mental Will, how could he possibly withstand it?
Now, with Zhou Tong's invincible momentum, his Dao Heart has not only been repaired, but has probably been trampled into the ground, impossible to dig out.
On the other side, Zhou Tong entered the ancient city.
The city was full of life, with ancient trees with lush foliage planted on both sides of the road. Some children played on the road, and there were also medicine shops, weapon shops, restaurants, inns, casinos and other establishments along the roadside.
As Zhou Tong and his group entered, people in the shops on both sides of the road looked out, and many street vendors temporarily moved into the alley to make way for them.
This only happens once every few years, when talented cultivators from outside are allowed to enter, so all the shops are making way for Zhou Tong and his group.
Not far away, soldiers were leading the group to the square in the center of the city.
The ground here is paved with gray-brown stone slabs, which have been etched with the marks of time. In front of them stands a tall stone platform, where an old man appears silently.
His figure was blurry, only his eyes, like golden lamps, shot out terrifying divine light in the distorted Void the Great. He said, "I am the Guiding Envoy and the lord of this city. I only have a few points to make. First, not everyone can continue on their journey. You should all rest and recuperate, as you will soon enter a trial ground for your first test and selection. Second, during your stay in the city, fighting is strictly prohibited. Alright, disperse and find lodging to rest and recuperate."
Everyone expected a more detailed explanation, but there were only these two points, leaving many things unclear.
"Senior City Lord, I would like to ask you something: what should we do if we are attacked and killed by someone?" someone asked.
"It can be used for self-defense." After the blurry figure finished speaking, it instantly dimmed and disappeared from the spot.
The Guiding Envoy's words were too simplistic, leaving many speechless but not daring to express their dissatisfaction. In the end, they could only disperse and find their own lodgings.
At this moment, the once quiet street became bustling again. Many vendors came out of the street again and started hawking their wares.
"Red Moon Fruit Cluster, a thousand-year-old medicinal fruit, sweet and crisp."
"Jiao meat filling buns, thin skin and generous filling, if you don't like them, you don't have to pay."
The ancient city is bustling, unlike a place for immortals to cultivate immortality. Instead, it is filled with the atmosphere of the mortal world, leaving many people speechless.
Zhou Tong wandered around the ancient city. Prices were extremely high; even the smallest item required a Divine Source to purchase. The reason was that this place was in the starry sky, where resources were scarce, making things extremely valuable.
After exploring the area to his heart's content, Zhou Tong casually found an inn to stay at.
For the next few days, it was very quiet here.
At dawn on the fifth day, a long, distant horn rang out.
Immediately, all the prodigies gathered in the square in the center of the city.
The Guiding Envoy reappeared and said, "This is the clarion call of our ancestors when they explored the universe and fought great battles in the border regions. Listen up, all of you! There is only one purpose for entering the trial grounds today: to obtain the profound mysteries of the Great Dao of that world. If you do not have this comprehension, then stop here!"
"I will lead you on your journey, follow me!" A Sky Wolf carrying a man emerged.
This is the commander-in-chief who guards the city, a saint; behind him are more than twenty soldiers, their armor ancient and their iron clothes cold and menacing, their Killing Intent filling the field.
A bolt of lightning flashed, the Void the Great cracked open, and a special altar appeared above the plaza. It was so huge that it wasn't crowded even when everyone stood on it.
No one spoke; only the commander chanted ancient syllables to activate the teleportation array.
"Boom!"
A massive beam of light shot out, piercing through the universe and tearing open a wide Space Passage leading to an unknown Other Shore.
"Let's go!" The Grand Commander urged the Sky Wolf and was the first to enter the Space Passage. The prodigies who came to the ancient road for trials followed closely behind, and finally, twenty soldiers brought up the rear.
This is an extremely special ancient road, its destination unknown. During the teleportation process, people felt that time and space were becoming disordered.
"Our ancestors were truly meticulous, tampering with the teleportation process. If I hadn't been proficient in the Gu Clan Treasure Art and the Dao of Space and Time, I probably wouldn't have been able to detect where the teleportation target was!" Zhou Tong quietly sensed the flow of space and time in the Space Passage.
After an unknown amount of time, everyone was jolted awake and rushed out of the space-time tunnel, arriving in the cold universe.
Looking back, the location of the First Pass of the Human Race was nowhere to be seen, and it was unknown how far away it was.
Not far from them was a huge island.
This island looks more magnificent than an ancient star, exuding an aura of vicissitudes, and one can only imagine how many calamities it has endured.
