The wind serpents sprayed lightning and venom more frantically, but they were still all evaporated by the fire wall. The oozes, lacking intelligence, foolishly tried to pass through the fire wall, resulting in a crackling sound of burning. Nothing remained except for the scorched skulls of unknown creatures.
Hu Feng slammed his staff onto the ground, and the fire wall immediately began to spread like ripples on a lake, expanding outwards in circles until it slowly dissipated upon hitting the cave walls. More than half of the lake water had been evaporated, and some shallow areas were completely dry.
The five druids watched with trembling hearts as their Divine Emissary effortlessly subdued these nightmare creatures. They had to admit that in terms of offensive power, druids who used gentle nature energy were no match for mages who used arcane magic. Or perhaps, it was simply that their Divine Emissary was too powerful, having mastered magic to an exquisite level.
Naralex suddenly began to tremble violently, letting out a scream in his sleep. Everyone immediately reacted, realizing that the awakening was nearing completion, and they were about to face Naralex's greatest fear.
A massive dark silhouette appeared in the water in the distance, slowly moving towards the land. Since most of the water had been evaporated, the creature was soon revealed to everyone.
A... giant murloc...
Hu Feng was utterly bewildered. Seriously? Are you kidding me? Your greatest fear in this life is a murloc, you, a promising young druid!?
"Wurlawurlawala!"
The giant murloc let out a characteristic murloc sound, its movement speed instantly increasing. It charged towards them with an aura that, for some reason, Hu Feng found incredibly intimidating.
At that moment, Hu Feng felt as if countless murlocs appeared behind the giant murloc, all charging towards him while making their characteristic sounds. Could this be the legendary, inexplicable fear of murlocs? ==~
This sudden feeling made Hu Feng instinctively become serious, as if a single misstep would lead to his demise under the murloc's attack.
Raising his staff, a continuous stream of Arcane Missiles shot out, hitting the murloc hard and sending it staggering back a few steps, scales flying. Hu Feng didn't pause. He blinked behind the giant murloc. Just as the creature turned around, it was frozen in place by a bone-chilling frost energy. The Frost Nova Hu Feng unleashed was incredibly potent, and the biting frost spread up the murloc's legs.
Then, Hu Feng pointed his staff at the murloc, and a Fireball slowly began to form. Although he could cast Pyroblast instantly, a slowly condensed Pyroblast was much more powerful than an instant cast. Before long, a giant fireball floated at the tip of his staff. With a thought, this supercharged Pyroblast broke free from the staff's control and slowly flew towards the murloc.
The giant murloc was filled with fear, desperately trying to break free from the Frost Nova's restraint. However, the more it struggled, the faster the frost spread up its legs. Finally, the supercharged Pyroblast struck the murloc's chest. The giant murloc let out a miserable "Wurlawurlawala" sound, its entire body erupting into a ball of fire. The Frost Nova's restraint disappeared, and the fiery mass futilely tried to retreat into the water. But engulfed in flames, its speed slowed, and it finally staggered to the ground, its body smoldering.
At this moment, Naralex's eyes snapped open, and he flipped himself to stand on the ground. He looked at the druids surrounding him, then at Divine Emissary Hu Feng, who seemed to have discovered something.
"Phew... Thank you all for your help! Thank you, Divine Emissary! I thought I would be trapped in an endless nightmare forever."
Hu Feng waved his hand and looked at Naralex with some confusion, "Is this place very close to the Emerald Dream? I always feel like another plane overlaps with this one."
Naralex was taken aback, then nodded. "Divine Emissary, you are indeed perceptive. It's a shame you're not a druid. That's right, this place overlaps with the Emerald Dream, which is why I chose to slumber here. I just don't know why I fell into a nightmare."
"Alright, I understand. You guys go back and rest. I need to stay here for a while to investigate some findings."
The druids were a bit confused but still obeyed and left. They trusted their Divine Emissary implicitly. After all, their Divine Emissary had led the Night Elves from the War of the Ancients to the present day. His achievements and immense power had firmly established him as a national idol and a spiritual leader on par with an emperor for the elves.
Hu Feng began to walk around the cave, tapping and prodding with his staff from time to time. Finally, in an open space not far from the stone bed, he found his target. A seemingly ethereal, emerald-green rift appeared in mid-air. The world on the other side of the rift exuded a comforting and serene aura. However, Hu Feng keenly sensed a trace of dark red, mixed with a black nightmare aura, surge through and then quickly disappear.
Stepping through the rift, he found himself in a dreamlike world: towering trees, an endless emerald plain, and a gentle breeze carrying a natural fragrance.
This was the Emerald Dream, the primal state of Azeroth at its birth.
However, Hu Feng didn't stop to admire the scenery. He was trying to track the nightmare energy that had disappeared earlier. If history hadn't changed, the source of this nightmare should be the one sealed by Archdruid Malfurion – Queen Azshara's former chief steward, now the Nightmare King, Sargoth. During the War of the Ancients, Malfurion sealed Sargoth within an oak tree, eternally suppressing him.
But Sargoth gradually corrupted the oak tree, and since this oak tree was connected to the Emerald Dream, Sargoth, under the command of the Old Gods, began to attempt to corrupt the entire Emerald Dream, turning it into a world of nightmares. Currently, the main body of this oak tree should be in the Broken Isles in the southern part of the world, having fallen from the World Tree into a new Nightmare Tree, Saladashir.
But Hu Feng was soon interrupted. A colossal, sky-obscuring green dragon flew towards him. This dragon wore a massive jeweled necklace around its neck, and a crescent-shaped glowing crystal hovered in front of its forehead.
The Green Dragon Queen, Ysera, one of the four Dragon Aspects, the guardian of dreams.
As Ysera approached Hu Feng, she instantly transformed into the form of a seductive Night Elf female. However, a pair of dragon horns on her head constantly proved her identity.
"Father God! Welcome to the Emerald Dream!" Ysera knelt respectfully before Hu Feng.
Hu Feng helped Ysera up. Hmm... feels nice~
"No need for such formalities. I was helping the druids with something and happened to discover the rift here, so I decided to take a look."
After a pause, Hu Feng continued, "But it's good that I came. I've detected an unwelcome power that is encroaching upon the Emerald Dream."
