Quantum Chip

As Vegapunk finished speaking, the entire Dream Star seemed to come alive. Light slowly lit up within the walls, and then a door opened directly in what had appeared to be a smooth wall.

The entire Dream Star was controlled by Vegapunk's original superbrain and could even be regarded as a silicon-based lifeform. Its interior was entirely constructed from Memory Metal Nanoparticles. Without authorization, one would not even be able to touch the door.

Vegapunk led Nico Robin and Hancock through the door. Inside was a Laboratory with a distinctly sci-fi style. At its center stood a transparent pillar of light, and floating in the middle of it was a blond boy who looked twelve or thirteen years old. His eyes were tightly shut, and he looked as though he were asleep.

This was the physical body Vegapunk had prepared for himself. It had consumed vast resources, using the genes of the future Supernova Cavendish as its foundation, then adding the superior genetic traits of Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, Garp, Kozuki Oden, Blackbeard, and others to create the strongest body.

The reason it looked only twelve or thirteen was because this physical body had been modified from its earliest stage of development.

An adult body was already in a state where its genes had been expressed. Replacing its gene sequences would be like directly replacing the most fundamental code in a complex program—it would only cause the program to crash.

Hancock, for example, had also undergone Mino's genetic modifications. Yet Mino could only optimize Hancock's own genes and add abilities such as a weakened version of Iron Skin. He could not truly alter her genetic sequences completely.

The physical body before them, however, had truly fused the strengths of many of the sea's most powerful figures. It could be called an existence approaching the ceiling of natural talent.

The reason it was only approaching that ceiling was because, although Cavendish's genes served as the foundation and could be considered exceptionally gifted, their tolerance still had limits.

This body's talent might not have been inferior to Kaido, Whitebeard, or Garp. It even possessed the unusual constitution needed to withstand two Devil Fruits. But compared to Charlotte Linlin, a true ceiling-breaking existence, it still fell far short.

If Vegapunk had been willing to use Charlotte Linlin as the genetic foundation, he could probably have created a monster that surpassed the limits of the Pirate World. Unfortunately, he did not want to become a woman.

The others were certainly powerful, but their talents had not reached such an unbelievable level. Moreover, Cavendish's own gifts could barely be considered top-tier, so in the end, Mino still chose Cavendish, who had the highest looks and a body most in line with ordinary human standards.

Vegapunk murmured as he looked at the figures before him.

"Is this the new generation of Quantum Bio-Chips?" Nico Robin, standing beside Vegapunk, wore a curious expression as she looked at the projected image of the brain. "How is it different from an ordinary Biological Chip?"

The Biological Chip was created by Vegapunk through a combination of scientific concepts from his previous life and his Brain-Brain Fruit. It had already been successfully developed ten years ago, though at the time it possessed only basic auxiliary calculation and memory functions.

After years of research and development, the Chip's functions had grown increasingly numerous, and its computing power had become ever stronger. In particular, the quantum-level Chip created this time possessed computing power alone that was in no way inferior to the Brain-Brain Fruit.

"A Quantum Chip and an ordinary Biological Chip are completely different things. Put simply, an ordinary Biological Chip is merely an auxiliary system, equivalent to a combination of a basic computer and a memory archive."

"A Quantum Chip, on the other hand, enhances the brain's capabilities across the board. Beyond memory and computational ability, it possesses functions such as multithreaded thinking, powerful thought acceleration, and a fuzzy memory retrieval module.

"And as a Biological Chip, it also has the ability to develop and evolve. It can fully ensure that even if I transfer bodies, my scientific research capabilities will not decline."

Vegapunk explained his invention with a proud expression, though a Biological Chip of this level was naturally not so easy to create.

Vegapunk had directly used Nanomachines and genetic programming to interfere with this physical body's brain, allowing it to generate a Biological Chip on its own rather than producing one externally. Naturally, that made the process far more difficult, and slow development was perfectly normal.

"In other words, the Quantum Bio-Chip's effect is equivalent to that of the Brain-Brain Fruit?"

A few traces of astonishment finally appeared on Nico Robin's normally calm face. She had truly never expected Vegapunk to accomplish even something like this.

"More or less." Vegapunk did not wish to say more. He checked the time.

"In another twenty-seven hours, the Quantum Bio-Chip will finish developing completely and stabilize. Then we can begin the soul transfer directly."

"When I undergo the soul transfer, Robin, I'll need you to observe. I will hand over control of the Dream Star to you. If anything goes wrong, I'll have to rely on you to resolve it."

Although this kind of soul transfer experiment had been carried out many times, and the technology was already fully mature with no side effects found in later observations,

Vegapunk was no ordinary person. As the user of the Brain-Brain Fruit, his mental power was thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands, of times greater than that of a normal human. Naturally, transferring his soul was far more troublesome.
