Ch. 1The Secret's Out

Stussy warned Vegapunk that the Navy and World Government were coming after his secrets, but he learned they had discovered Nico Robin, his experimental assistant. As the fleets approached, Vegapunk remained confident in his hidden weapons and plans while preparing to abandon his frail body.

  • Stussy told Vegapunk that the Navy and World Government fleets had set sail under Akainu.
  • Vegapunk listed his concealed weapons, alliances, experiments, and plans, then explained that he had prepared them to defend himself if his schemes were exposed.
  • Vegapunk recalled that his transmigration and scientific knowledge had helped him surpass the world’s existing technology, while the Brain-Brain Fruit left him physically weak.
  • Vegapunk asked Stussy what the World Government had discovered, and she revealed that they had found Nico Robin, his experimental assistant.
  • Stussy concluded that Robin’s discovery seemed minor beside Vegapunk’s other secrets, and she accepted that they might have to confront the World Government.

Ch. 2Hancock Rescued

Vegapunk planned to fake his death and adopt a new identity, but Robin exposed that he mainly wanted plastic surgery. He was then nearly crushed by Hancock, whom he had rescued from the Celestial Dragons, as the chapter explained how he earned her loyalty and used the rescue operation to infiltrate the World Government.

  • Vegapunk announced that he would fake his death, take a new identity, and become stronger, but Robin accused him of wanting plastic surgery.
  • Vegapunk admitted that he had chosen Cavendish’s genes for his clones because he wanted them to be handsome.
  • Hancock embraced Vegapunk so tightly that he complained his bones were breaking, and she released him in alarm.
  • The chapter revealed that Vegapunk had rescued Hancock and her sisters from the Celestial Dragons and won their loyalty by giving Hancock a clone of one of her former captors.
  • Vegapunk had used the Celestial Dragon clones to gain funding and place subordinates inside Marine and CP departments.

Ch. 3Dream Star and Plan

Vegapunk transferred control of Umbrella to Stussy and explained that Future Island’s data and clones could be restored from the Dream Star. He brought Nico Robin and Boa Hancock to his orbital space station and prepared to deploy Plan A35 as the Navy and World Government approached.

  • Stussy warned Vegapunk that Navy and World Government forces would reach Future Island in two days, and Vegapunk assigned her leadership of Umbrella after his planned fake death.
  • Vegapunk told Nico Robin that Future Island’s data and clones were backed up on the Dream Star, then asked how she had been discovered.
  • Nico Robin suggested that the World Government had traced Vegapunk’s research to ancient literature, and Vegapunk considered that it might be preparing to discard him.
  • Vegapunk transported Nico Robin and Boa Hancock to the Dream Star, his giant orbital space station and true lair.
  • Vegapunk ordered the Dream Star to deploy Plan A35.

Ch. 4Quantum Chip

Vegapunk showed Robin and Hancock the engineered body prepared for his soul transfer and explained the new Quantum Bio-Chip developing in its brain. He said the chip would stabilize in twenty-seven hours, leaving Robin responsible for overseeing the transfer and controlling the Dream Star.

  • Vegapunk led Nico Robin and Hancock into the Dream Star's laboratory and showed them the body he had created using Cavendish's genes and traits from powerful figures.
  • Vegapunk reviewed the body's modifications, including implanted Magnet-Magnet and Rumble-Rumble Fruit abilities, and noted that its Quantum Bio-Chip had not finished developing.
  • Vegapunk explained to Robin that the Quantum Bio-Chip enhanced memory, computation, and thought, and could preserve his research abilities when he transferred bodies.
  • Vegapunk told Robin that the chip would stabilize in twenty-seven hours and asked her to oversee his soul transfer and take control of the Dream Star.

Ch. 5Future Island

CP agents and Marines attacked Future Island, where Vegapunk’s Digimon-inspired machines inflicted heavy losses before Akainu and Aokiji captured the lab. Vegapunk threatened to sink the island and urged them to look at its outskirts.

  • MetalSeadramon destroyed the CP agents’ ship and killed several agents as they tried to fight it.
  • Akainu learned the infiltration had failed and waited for reinforcements, including Aokiji, before attacking Future Island.
  • Akainu and Aokiji led the assault, fighting Vegapunk’s robots and Clone Soldiers; WarGreymon wounded Aokiji, and Machinedramon’s self-destruction injured Akainu.
  • The Marines defeated the island’s defenders and entered the Central Lab, where Akainu found Vegapunk and Nico Robin.
  • Vegapunk refused arrest and warned the Marines to look at the island’s outskirts before declaring that they would all sink into the sea.

Ch. 6Microwave Oven and Deep-Sea Adventure

Vegapunk used Clone Substitutes to lure the Marines onto Future Island, then sank the island and activated a Microwave Generator that killed most of them. As the island reached the seafloor and the screen went dark, Vegapunk wondered whether Akainu and Aokiji had survived and turned his attention to his upcoming Soul Transfer Surgery.

  • Nico Robin activated the golden Energy Shield around Future Island, and Akainu killed the Vegapunk Clone Substitute before the Robin Clone Substitute also collapsed and died.
  • Future Island began sinking, and Aokiji prepared to freeze the seawater and break through the shield, but the Microwave Generator activated and began heating the Marines' bodies.
  • The microwaves killed most of the Marines, while Aokiji's body melted and Akainu remained able to move but could not save the others.
  • Future Island sank to the seafloor, where the Energy Shield failed and crushing seawater pressure cut off the screen aboard Dream Star.
  • Vegapunk dismissed the loss of the Marines and focused on undergoing Soul Transfer Surgery using his tested Quantum Bio-Chip body.

Ch. 7A Sudden Accident

Vegapunk began transferring his soul into a newly created body while Nico Robin and Boa Hancock watched. The experiment ended in a burst of silver light, and Kakashi encountered the three strangers in a snowy wilderness, where the Cheongsam Beauty demanded to know their location.

  • Dream Star's Light Orb devoted its calculations to Vegapunk's soul transfer experiment as Nico Robin monitored the data and Boa Hancock watched nervously.
  • Vegapunk's soul was completely transferred into the new body, and intense silver light erupted.
  • Kakashi fled across the snow with a girl on his back while armored pursuers attacked him with concealed weapons.
  • Kakashi spotted two women and a golden-haired boy ahead, then froze at the Cheongsam Beauty's appearance before checking himself for Genjutsu.
  • The Cheongsam Beauty asked Kakashi where they were, and the girl on his back told her they were in Snow Country and warned her about the pursuing Snow Ninja.

Ch. 8Double Suicide Decapitation Technique

Vegapunk, in the body of a young blond boy, and Hancock encountered Kakashi and Kazahana Koyuki while Snow Ninjas pursued them. After Kakashi’s ambush failed, Vegapunk revealed his lightning and magnetism powers and freed himself from the ground.

  • Kakashi and Kazahana Koyuki were surrounded by Snow Ninjas seeking to return Koyuki to Lord Dōtō, who had killed her father.
  • Hancock turned the pursuing Snow Ninjas and Kazahana Koyuki to stone with Bewitching Sweet Breeze, but Kakashi resisted her charm and escaped as a Shadow Clone.
  • Hancock sensed Vegapunk’s true location, and Kakashi used Double Suicide Decapitation Technique to bury the blond boy up to his head and threaten him with a Kunai.
  • Vegapunk shocked Kakashi with natural lightning and used magnetism to drive the Kunai into Kakashi’s hand, then broke free from the ground.
  • Vegapunk reflected that his powerful new body had strong combat instincts but that he lacked fighting experience and could not use elementalization in this different world.

Ch. 9Help

After Vegapunk agreed to help Kazahana Koyuki reclaim Snow Country, he and Nico Robin set out with her while Kakashi remained bound. At the palace, Hancock confronted Kazahana Dōtō, whose court fell silent under her gaze.

  • Kazahana Koyuki woke to find Kakashi tied up and the Snow Ninja pursuers petrified, then asked Vegapunk and his companions to help her take back Snow Country.
  • Vegapunk agreed, hoping to find an energy source for the powerless Quantum Brain and learn how they had crossed into the Ninja World.
  • Nico Robin urged the group to leave the freezing wasteland, and Kazahana Koyuki led them toward the capital.
  • Kazahana Dōtō claimed Snow Country's throne after killing Kazahana Sōsetsu and eliminating the ministers who opposed him.
  • Hancock burst into the palace and demanded that Kazahana Dōtō come out and die, leaving him and his ministers speechless with her beauty.

Ch. 10The Nature of Chakra

Hancock, Vegapunk, and Nico Robin defeated Kazahana Dōtō and restored Kazahana Koyuki as Snow Country’s Daimyo. In the laboratory, Vegapunk examined Chakra and concluded that it could allow a powerful being to harvest Ninja, though he argued that the Ninja World’s techniques could still resist the Otsutsuki Clan.

  • Hancock’s Bewitching Sweet Breeze failed to affect Kazahana Dōtō because of his Chakra Armor, but her Haki-coated kick shattered his arms and armor and sent him through a palace wall.
  • Vegapunk arrived with the captured Kakashi, while Nico Robin and Kazahana Koyuki followed; the group crushed Kazahana Dōtō’s brief rule, and Kazahana Koyuki reclaimed her position as Daimyo.
  • Vegapunk’s group became Snow Country’s regents, and the Snow Ninja submitted to Vegapunk so he could study their Chakra.
  • Vegapunk explained that Chakra required a catalyst, could gather toward stronger Chakra, and might let a vastly powerful being harvest Ninja.
  • Nico Robin asked whether they should avoid using Chakra, but Vegapunk said the Ninja World’s developed techniques could still challenge the Otsutsuki Clan.

Ch. 11Chakra Seed

Vegapunk completed a Chakra Seed that he said could awaken Ice Release, and Nico Robin absorbed it and began generating Chakra. Her reserves appeared to exceed those of a Jonin by several times, leaving the Snow Ninja stunned.

  • Vegapunk explained that he could address Chakra’s hidden dangers and described how supernatural power could help scientific research.
  • Vegapunk finished extracting and compressing Kazahana Dōtō’s Chakra into an Ice Release Chakra Seed.
  • Vegapunk said the seed could grant Ice Release to Nico Robin or Boa Hancock, though a Snow Ninja doubted the claim.
  • Nico Robin absorbed the Chakra Seed, which awakened dormant energy in her cells.
  • Nico Robin extracted Chakra, and a Snow Ninja reacted in shock at her enormous reserves.
  • Vegapunk attributed Nico Robin’s strength to her Pirate World physique, which was exceptional by Ninja World standards.

Ch. 12Snow Country's Treasure

Vegapunk gave Nico Robin and Hancock Chakra Seeds, and both awakened Ice Release, while his own chakra was limited to Lightning Release. He then examined Snow Country’s unfinished Geothermal Generator and discovered that Kazahana Koyuki’s father had designed it to run on Natural Energy.

  • Nico Robin awakened Ice Release after Vegapunk gave her a Chakra Seed, and Hancock joked that the gift was a marriage proposal.
  • Hancock received a Chakra Seed and unleashed an enormous amount of chakra, cracking the laboratory floor.
  • Vegapunk determined that his Rumble-Rumble Fruit meant he could awaken only pure Lightning Release, and he paused his chakra research for lack of samples.
  • Kazahana Koyuki showed Vegapunk Snow Country’s unfinished Geothermal Generator and explained that her father had designed it.
  • Vegapunk scanned the generator and discovered that it used Natural Energy as its power source.

Ch. 13Modifying the Geothermal Generator

Vegapunk explained that Snow Country lacked enough Natural Energy to keep the entire nation warm, but he could create a fertile region large enough to feed its people. He then rebuilt the Geothermal Generator, which began drawing in Natural Energy and melting the surrounding snow.

  • Vegapunk told Kazahana Koyuki that the Geothermal Generator could not keep all of Snow Country springlike without a new energy source, but a smaller farmland region was achievable.
  • Vegapunk considered Snow Country's resources and isolation suitable for developing technology before pursuing his plans to conquer the Ninja World.
  • Vegapunk used electromagnetic force and his precise Observation Haki to lift and reshape the Geothermal Generator.
  • Vegapunk upgraded the generator's conduction, storage, and Natural Energy absorption systems.
  • The rebuilt UFO-shaped generator gathered Natural Energy, melting nearby snow and allowing grass to sprout.

Ch. 14Changes in Snow Country

Dr. Vegapunk activated a Magnetic Field Manipulation machine that turned a vast area of Snow Country into fertile land, fulfilling Kazahana Koyuki’s wish to make the country self-sufficient in crops. He explained the land would remain warm for only half the year and considered the limits of changing more of Snow Country, while Koyuki offered to help him find radioactive materials for a more powerful energy source.

  • Kazahana Koyuki examined Dr. Vegapunk’s switchless machine as he explained that only he could control it.
  • Dr. Vegapunk activated the machine, melting the snow and covering the land with grass as Koyuki celebrated the fulfillment of her father’s wish.
  • Dr. Vegapunk explained that the machine’s effects covered a larger area than expected but would last only six months at a time.
  • Dr. Vegapunk described a Solar Furnace powered by refined radioactive materials, and Koyuki offered to help obtain them.
  • Dr. Vegapunk doubted anyone was researching radioactive materials and privately judged that expanding Snow Country’s fertile land further would risk disaster and invite foreign ambition.

Ch. 15Power Comparison

Vegapunk assessed the balance between the Pirate World and the Ninja World and judged that his group could protect their base in Snow Country. When Kirigakure ninjas tried to capture him at his laboratory, its natural-lightning defenses knocked them unconscious.

  • Vegapunk compared the worlds’ fighters and estimated that Hancock could become a Pirate Emperor after another breakthrough.
  • Vegapunk relied on Snow Country’s remote location and geothermal power to support his laboratory beneath a snow mountain.
  • A Kirigakure captain led three subordinates to capture Vegapunk, warning them to focus only on their mission.
  • The laboratory released a flash of natural lightning that struck the Kirigakure ninjas and left them unconscious.

Ch. 16Developed Ninjutsu

Vegapunk used Kakashi’s knowledge and his Laboratory’s experiments to develop a new Lightning Release technique that stimulated cellular activity, then handed it to Kakashi to train with. Kakashi feared the technique’s dangers, while Vegapunk trusted his research and expected him to try it.

  • Vegapunk welcomed Kakashi as he brought Kirigakure ninjas to the Laboratory for experiments.
  • Vegapunk had already analyzed the ninjutsu in Kakashi’s mind and added dozens or hundreds of techniques to his Ninjutsu Database.
  • Kakashi helped tie the Kirigakure ninjas to operating tables, recalling that earlier spies had died during Vegapunk’s experiments.
  • Vegapunk gave Kakashi a revised Lightning Release technique based on his experiments and Kakashi’s secret method for stimulating cells.
  • Kakashi worried that the technique could kill him, while Vegapunk insisted that his research and Quantum Brain had made it reliable.

Ch. 17Lightning Release Training Method

Kakashi began Vegapunk’s Lightning Release Body Training Technique and, after more than ten days of training, showed major physical improvement. Vegapunk continued researching Ninjutsu while Kakashi sparred with Nico Robin at the institute.

  • Hancock objected to Kakashi’s reluctance, and Vegapunk told him to test the new training method at the laboratory.
  • Kakashi studied the scroll, judged the gradual Lightning Release technique unlikely to seriously harm him, and let Vegapunk monitor his Chakra as he trained.
  • Over the next ten days, Vegapunk used the Quantum Brain and test subjects to study Ninjutsu and develop techniques suited to himself, Hancock, and Nico Robin.
  • Nico Robin practiced Vegapunk’s Ninjutsu against Kakashi, who had also been training and helping with laboratory work.
  • Kakashi grew several centimeters, gained muscle, and became strong enough to keep his Sharingan active during ordinary battles.

Ch. 18Nanobots

Kakashi and Nico Robin tested their combat abilities, and Vegapunk measured the gains from Kakashi’s Lightning Release training. After Kakashi drank Vegapunk’s Nutrient Solution, Vegapunk revealed that it had delivered Nanobots into Kakashi’s body as a hidden means of control.

  • Kakashi and Nico Robin fought on the training ground, with Robin using rapid, multi-cast Ice Release ninjutsu to keep him at bay.
  • Kakashi complained that Robin’s Chakra reserves were excessive, and Robin teased him about being weak.
  • Vegapunk concluded that Robin had mastered her new fighting style and reported that Kakashi’s speed and Chakra had increased through training.
  • Kakashi accepted another bottle of Nutrient Solution from Vegapunk and drank it without suspicion.
  • Vegapunk confirmed that the solution’s Nanobots had spread through Kakashi’s body and could serve as a concealed means of control.

Ch. 19Training Pod

Vegapunk used Training Pods to strengthen the Snow Country’s ninjas, turning them into a formidable second-rate force, then considered how to expand their numbers. The chapter ended with him rejecting Nico Robin’s suggestion to use Clones because the Snow Country lacked the necessary resources and facilities.

  • Kakashi left the Snow Country, believing he had no realistic chance to take revenge on Vegapunk’s group.
  • Vegapunk revealed that Kakashi had been used to gather data for Training Pods intended to strengthen the Snow Country’s ninja forces.
  • Vegapunk manufactured over a hundred Training Pods, and the Snow Country’s ninjas trained with them for three months.
  • The Snow Ninjas greatly increased their physical abilities and Chakra reserves, with around one-third awakening a Lightning Release Chakra affinity.
  • Vegapunk considered expanding the ninja force, but Nico Robin’s suggestion to use Clones was rejected because the Snow Country lacked the resources and facilities.

Ch. 20Power Development and Research

Vegapunk expanded his influence by taking control of small island nations while the Snow Country grew prosperous through his technology. He left the story seeking answers about how Natural Energy extended the lifespan of the Animal Sages.

  • Vegapunk explained that the Ninja World's separation between secular rulers and ninja power gave him opportunities to control weaker Daimyo, while Hancock suggested annexing other powers.
  • The Snow Country's geothermal generator and improved mining machines sharply increased crop yields, exports, and tax revenue.
  • Vegapunk controlled the Daimyo of seven or eight nearby small island nations and absorbed their ninja forces, while delaying action against the Sea Country until he gathered more intelligence.
  • Vegapunk's enhanced force grew to more than a thousand ninjas, including over two hundred at Special Jonin level or higher, though they lacked specialized techniques and equipment.
  • After destroying a failed experiment, Vegapunk decided he might need to capture Summoning Beasts from the Three Great Sage Locations to study Natural Energy's life-extending effects.
