The Ugly Truth Behind Your Masks

Uzumaki Naruto held the two eyeballs, squatted down beside Uchiha Shisui, and gestured briefly.

"Shisui, it's very inconvenient without eyes. I'll put two eyes in for you as a temporary replacement."

Uchiha Shisui snapped out of his shock, then broke out in a cold sweat, stammering, "Na-Naruto, don't be reckless. Eye transplants aren't as simple as you think…"

"I'm a person, not a building block. You can't just put them in and expect them to work…"

"Shut up."

Uzumaki Naruto impatiently glanced at Uchiha Shisui. With a thought, four chains immediately bound Uchiha Shisui hand and foot.

Roughly stuffing the Root ninja's eyeballs into Uchiha Shisui's eye sockets, Uzumaki Naruto asked, "Well, can you see?"

Uchiha Shisui: "…"

Uchiha Shisui said, wanting to cry but unable to, "Naruto, you put them in backward. The pupils should be on the outside."

Uzumaki Naruto was slightly stunned, only then realizing he had put them in backward.

However, Uzumaki Naruto didn't care and simply dug the eyeballs out of Uchiha Shisui's eye sockets again.

Uchiha Shisui: "…"

"They really were backward… The pupils should be on the outside…"

"This should work."

Uzumaki Naruto adjusted the eyeballs and stuffed them back into Uchiha Shisui's eye sockets again.

Uchiha Shisui was crying internally.

You think such a crude transplant will restore my sight? What a joke, eye transplants are incredibly precise…

"Huh!?"

Uchiha Shisui lifted his head in a daze, looking at Uzumaki Naruto, blinking blankly, his face a picture of foolishness.

"I can see…"

What the hell!?

I can see just like that!?

Uzumaki Naruto's lips curved slightly, looking at Uchiha Shisui as if he were a toy.

"The Uchiha Clan's physique is truly interesting. Uchiha Madara was like this, and so are you. I wonder if other eyeballs would work…"

Uchiha Shisui didn't hear Uchiha Madara's name. He was scared half to death and quickly shook his head:

"No, no, Naruto, please give up that terrifying idea."

With his eyes restored, Uchiha Shisui saw the corpses of the Root ninjas and couldn't help but gasp.

"These three Root ninjas were instantly killed, Naruto. You actually managed to instantly kill three Chunin…"

Uzumaki Naruto came back to his senses and glanced at the three Root ninja corpses.

"So they were Chunin. No wonder they were so weak."

Uchiha Shisui almost spat out a mouthful of blood. Do you know what you're saying?

You're just a kid from the Ninja Academy, not even a ninja yet, and you're not satisfied after taking out three elite Chunin!?

Uzumaki Naruto said:

"Alright, Shisui, you should get some sleep and rest a bit. I have something to ask you when you wake up."

Uchiha Shisui froze for a moment, then felt a sharp pain in his neck, and everything went black as he lost consciousness.

After knocking out Uchiha Shisui, Uzumaki Naruto looked at the three Root ninja corpses.

With a flick of his finger, several Scorch Release fireballs landed on the Anbu ninja corpses, instantly igniting them in a fierce blaze, burning them into charred husks that continued to smolder.

Uzumaki Naruto used Adamantine Chains to bring Uchiha Shisui to the Forest of Death.

Choosing a cave hidden behind leaves, Uzumaki Naruto chased out the few black bears inside, tidied up a bit, and placed Uchiha Shisui in a pile of fallen leaves.

"Phew!"

Having finished all this, Uzumaki Naruto wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"Hey, Naruto, why did you save this Uchiha Clan guy?"

Inside the sealed space.

Nine-Tails unhappily swished its tail, growling, "The Uchiha Clan is an inherently evil clan. It's best to let them die."

Uzumaki Naruto smiled and said, "Because I want to know the truth."

Nine-Tails paused.

"Are you talking about your parents' deaths?"

Uzumaki Naruto nodded, saying coldly, "What happened was too illogical."

"My mother's birthing location should have been top-secret, yet it was discovered. On top of that, when you went berserk, Root ninja didn't come to help, and they even blocked the Uchiha Clan's ninja. It was as if they simply allowed Minato Namikaze and his wife to die."

The Nine-Tails was speechless.

When he went berserk back then, he had lost his mind, attacking everyone around him almost indiscriminately.

Uzumaki Naruto's eyes showed a cold indifference: "There's definitely something fishy going on."

Root was Konoha's dark side. Although controlled by Danzo, the true master behind it was undoubtedly Sarutobi Hiruzen.

Yet, during the Nine-Tails attack, Root ninja didn't come out to help.

It was similar to the Uchiha Clan massacre.

Uchiha Itachi annihilated the Uchiha Clan. Ha, who would believe that wasn't at Sarutobi Hiruzen's behest?

The same logic applied to the Nine-Tails attack.

Not letting Root ninja act was one thing.

Sarutobi Hiruzen even prevented the Uchiha Clan's ninja from acting, even though their Sharingan were truly the only ones capable of stopping the Nine-Tails.

Minato Namikaze?!

His Flying Thunder God was powerful, but at most, it could only deflect a Tailed Beast Bomb; it couldn't actually harm the Nine-Tails.

The only effective method was the Reaper Death Seal.

Sarutobi Hiruzen must have known this.

But he deliberately stalled the Nine-Tails until Minato Namikaze arrived to help.

The result was Minato Namikaze and Uzumaki Kushina dying in battle, and he, Sarutobi Hiruzen, reclaimed his position as Hokage.

It seemed logical.

But upon closer inspection, it was full of holes.

Too many things were deliberate, as if the Nine-Tails attack was orchestrated to kill Minato Namikaze and his wife.

Before, he lacked the power, so even if he had suspicions, he could only keep them hidden. But now… he had the strength to uncover the truth.

"Sarutobi Hiruzen, Shimura Danzo, just how ugly are the faces you hide behind your masks!?"

Uzumaki Naruto punched the cave wall, leaving a large crack, and blood dripped down with the crumbling rocks.
