A Calamity-Grade Superhuman? How was everyone they pulled out in this damn place such a freak? Monsters were everywhere... Damn it, then there was no way he could get any information about Exorcists out of the Instructor today.

Ji Minghuan raised an eyebrow, silently committing the name "Urushihara Ruri" to memory.

Hearing the announcement, the Instructor looked up at Ji Minghuan. "I have something to take care of. Let's leave it at that for today. If you're interested, I can tell you more another time."

"Alright." Ji Minghuan nodded.

As the Instructor's figure was swallowed by the metal door, the cold fluorescent lights clicked off in unison. Ji Minghuan was left sitting alone with his shadow in the cramped Imprisonment Room.

"With that, the preparations are more or less complete. Other than Exorcists, I now have some understanding of the other two Superhuman Species. The odds of generating a high-potential character should be much higher."

With that thought, Ji Minghuan lay down on the bed and closed his eyes.

He switched to the perspective of Black Cocoon, his first Game Character, opened his eyes from the bed, tapped the gear icon in the lower-right corner of his vision, brought up the System Panel, switched to the final page, and found the most conspicuous option, marked in red and black text—Create Game Character.

Without hesitation, Ji Minghuan directly selected "Yes."

The next instant, everything before him went black. Both his Main Body and Game Character perspectives vanished without a trace.

The moment he opened his eyes, Ji Minghuan was reunited with his "index-finger mouse."

He remembered it vividly. The last time he created a character, he had been bored enough to fiddle with it for quite a while.

Then, slowly emerging from the darkness, was a panel against a background woven from red and black. It looked like the UI of an RPG game.

At that moment, a line of pixelated text was displayed in the center of the panel:

One night, you awakened your own ability and gained the power to generate and control "Thorns." For your dead father, and for the humiliation you have suffered over the years, you decide to extend the thorns of revenge toward the yakuza families above you—completely destroying the yakuza ecosystem, or perhaps... unifying the Japanese Underworld and becoming a Yakuza Saintess.

This Game Character has the following two "Growth Routes" available:

"Although I can accept playing a female Game Character, this background seems a little too complicated."

Late that night, you took the invitation to the harbor in New York, where you saw the Legendary Whale, Qikana'ou, swimming upon the sea. From then on, the door to the world of Anecdote Envoys was opened to you.

This Game Character has the following two "Growth Routes" available:

Route One: Anecdote Sentinel;

Route Two: Evil Anecdote Envoy.

"This one won't work either," Ji Minghuan thought. "Although after hearing the Instructor explain the world, I really wanted to make an Anecdote Envoy character to play around with, compared to the previous characters, this character's base attributes are pathetically low..."
