The New Eredar Twins

Since he was carrying out a blockade mission, Roy did not approach Argus too closely. Instead, he stationed himself on one of Argus's outer satellites, then divided the Burning Legion Demons he had brought into dozens of groups and arranged for them to use Starships to establish an encirclement around Argus.

When the Burning Legion's Starships appeared, the Eredar on Argus naturally noticed them as well. The portion of their people led by Archimonde and Kil'jaeden had already begun preparing to welcome the Burning Legion's arrival. Kil'jaeden in particular, who had previously still been somewhat indecisive, finally cast aside his hesitation after seeing the Burning Legion appear and resolved to throw in his lot completely with Sargeras.

Eredar society had now been split into two parts. The Eredar who did not wish to join the Burning Legion had basically all gathered around Prophet Velen. When news of the Burning Legion Starships reached Velen, he realized that he had to act quickly.

But Prophet Velen still had one problem left unresolved: Kil'jaeden.

After deciding to side with the Burning Legion, Kil'jaeden had continually tried to persuade Velen. He knew that Velen intended to resist Sargeras and the Burning Legion, so he feared that Velen's actions would anger Sargeras and the Burning Legion, bringing catastrophic ruin upon Argus. Thus, during this period, he repeatedly sought out Velen, hoping to convince him to join the Burning Legion as well. Left with no choice, Velen could only play along with him while secretly accelerating his efforts to gather the clansmen who wished to flee.

Velen knew that when the time came to escape, the Starships' ascent could not be concealed from Kil'jaeden. If Kil'jaeden tried to stop them then, they might lose a great many clansmen. He had to come up with a solution.
