Background / History

Lilith states that she was the Creator's first child, created as a “mother body” and granted the function of reproduction. The Egg of the Red Sea originated from her own cells, making her both the Creator's child and assistant in the creation of life. After the Creator departed to explore the deepest Void, Lilith began pursuing His traces across countless worlds. 602

Her true Authority is Reproduction, not blood or time. Seeking a power that could protect her from Void corruption, she attempted to recreate Chaos Power by fusing angelic and demonic forces. These experiments failed to restore Chaos Power but produced the Nephalem. 198 602

Lilith created soul avatars across many worlds to search for Relics of the Creator. Her incarnations pursued similar bloodline experiments in different ways: the Darksiders-world incarnation used angel and demon corpses, while the Sanctuary incarnation bore Nephalem with Inarius. 568 602

In Sanctuary, Lilith and Inarius created a refuge from the Eternal War and became the parents of the first Nephalem. Lilith initially protected her children, slaughtering angels and demons within Sanctuary who threatened them. Her conflict with Inarius and the Nephalem later resulted in her exile into the Void. 558 568 592

After being summoned back to Sanctuary by Mendeln, Lilith resented the Nephalem for allowing—and helping—her exile. She initially demanded remorse before acting to save them from Inarius and the Burning Hells. 591 592 596

Appearance

Demon King / Succubus Form

Lilith's Darksiders-world incarnation has a striking succubus appearance: a curvaceous humanoid figure in demon armor, crowned by enormous horns and inverted demon wings. Unlike most abyssal succubi, she has humanlike legs and wears high heels. 196

  • Long tail and ornamental black chains around her waist and hands. 196
  • Large crownlike demon horns and a pair of inverted wings. 196
  • Humanlike thighs rather than reverse-jointed demon hooves. 196
  • An overwhelming natural allure, even when she is not deliberately using seduction. 592

Void-Touched Sanctuary Form

Following her return from Void exile, Lilith has pale skin, black lips, black tear streaks beneath her eyes, and mismatched pupils—one black and one gold. Her veined horns form a Demon King’s crown, while her wings have gray-white membranes and hanging bone spurs. 592

  • Segmented skeletal tail ending in a claw-shaped bone tip. 592
  • Baroque black gown formed from drifting blood-red petals. 592
  • Icy gaze and immense pressure that compel Mendeln to kneel. 592

Primordial Form

After fusing her avatars, Lilith takes a colossal serpentine Titan form larger than the moon. Her rainbow hair, pointed ears, glowing pupil-less eyes, smaller horns, and lower serpent body combine traits associated with many created races. 619

  • Six pairs of distinct wings: demon, angelic, draconic, insectlike, and other forms. 619
  • Red-petal garment across an otherwise humanlike upper body. 619
  • A size great enough to nearly hold Sanctuary in her arms. 620

Personality

Lilith is calculating, patient, and exceptionally difficult to read. She withholds information, acts through long-term plans, and uses her ability to observe the River of Time to prepare contingencies before threats fully emerge. 543 600 601

Her maternal instinct is genuine but possessive. She regards the Nephalem as her children, deeply resents their betrayal, and is willing to force them into obedience through bloodline control. Yet she also destroys threats to Sanctuary and intends to leave the Nephalem a “pure land” before departing. 592 598 621

She can be coldly ruthless toward enemies and former allies. Lilith tortures and kills Inarius, annihilates the six Demon Kings’ avatars and dissolves their souls, and kills Trag'Oul for depriving the Nephalem of reproductive ability. 599 621

Abilities & Skills

Authority of Reproduction

Lilith's fundamental Authority governs reproduction, division, gestation, and the continuation of life. It is described as one of the most powerful Authorities in existence. 602 620

  • Replicates Roy's Chaos Power inside the Egg of the Red Sea. 602
  • Splits Michael's body and soul through a mitosis-like process, reducing his realm and dividing his Divinity. 619 620
  • Grants Julia and Benia a trace of reproductive power, allowing them to bear Roy's children. 621
  • Creates and sustains the Egg of the Red Sea, a Creator Relic capable of incubating life and repairing living beings. 602

Temporal Power

Lilith can perceive the River of Time and apply temporal power, though she explains that time itself cannot be changed. 601

  • Anticipates attacks through precognition, allowing her to evade Inarius with seemingly impossible agility. 598
  • Receives memories from other incarnations across worlds. 592
  • Prepared a time-reversal contingency that restored her from Void Banshee form. 600
  • Observes possible futures through Selas, although the presence of many prophets can interfere with prophecy. 607 614

Blood and Bloodline Control

Lilith wields blood as both a weapon and a means of command, especially against the Nephalem descended from her creation. 598

  • Forces Nephalem-blooded kings and nobles into obedience. 598
  • Summons a Nephalem army from a sea of blood. 598
  • Uses blood control to weaken Inarius before killing him. 598 599
  • Covers the moon's illuminated surface with her sea of blood to feed the Egg of the Red Sea with solar energy. 612

Succubus Charm

As the first succubus and matriarch of the succubus race, Lilith possesses an unmatched seductive influence. 162 592

  • Bewitches Blood Angels so completely that they kill their own comrades. 196 197
  • Her charm can overwhelm even Roy when deliberately activated. 602
  • Her unconscious movements and voice can affect male creatures without deliberate intent. 592

Void Banshee Physiology

When Void Power overwhelms her, Lilith becomes a Void Banshee: a volatile being of black, viscous Void matter. 599 600

  • Shifts rapidly between solid and void states, causing attacks to pass through her. 600
  • Creates spatial wounds that damage enemies' bodies and temporarily seal their magical circuits. 600
  • Converts or negates many elemental attacks rather than using conventional elemental magic herself. 600
  • Devours surrounding matter to increase her Void Power, threatening to consume the world if left unchecked. 600
  • This state is dangerous and unstable; Lilith relies on temporal preparation to reverse it. 600

Cross-World Avatar Network

Lilith's avatars exist across numerous worlds and can share memories. 592 602

  • Opens large numbers of World Gates simultaneously. 613
  • Summons 666 incarnations, including angelic, demonic, technological, and other forms. 613
  • Requires exactly 666 avatars for the fusion that restores her Original Sin-level power. 614
