Queen Mother of the West, born from the first wisp of primordial yin energy, was naturally breathtakingly beautiful.
But Li Xinghe's gaze lingered on the Innate Ren Water Peach Tree.
This was a true Innate Spiritual Root, not the peach tree replanted after being shattered in later ages—its effects were naturally worlds apart.
"May I ask what instructions the great deity has for gracing Jade Pool?" Queen Mother of the West said with utmost respect.
"Ah!" As the saying goes, you don't hit a smiling face. Since Queen Mother of the West was so courteous, Li Xinghe couldn't find a reason to seize the peach tree.
He couldn't just invite anyone to eat dumplings on a whim!
Just then, a powerful aura descended. "Disciple, come out quickly! Your master has obtained an Innate Supreme Treasure containing the innate Yin-Yang Great Dao. You may join me in comprehending it."
"Oh ho, isn't this my old pal Yin Yang? What, not convinced? Followed me all the way to Kunlun?" Li Xinghe said with a grin.
The Yin Yang Demon God nearly turned and left, but thinking of his disciple still here, he finally stopped.
No need to guess—Li Xinghe was definitely after the peach tree.
"Li Xinghe, you've already obtained the Yellow Middle Plum. This peach tree is of little use to you. Why be so aggressive?" the Yin Yang Demon God said coldly.
"Master, you misunderstand. This great deity hasn't tried to seize the peach tree at all," Queen Mother of the West said with a smile.
That flattery—Li Xinghe looked at Queen Mother of the West with new eyes.
No wonder she was the future Chief of Primordial Female Immortals. With just a few words, she'd made it awkward for Li Xinghe to make a move.
In later ages, the East Prince, driven by ambition, directly clashed with Di Jun and Tai Yi, only to perish body and soul.
Queen Mother of the West, meanwhile, withdrew to West Kunlun, no longer participating in the conflicts of the Primordial World.
Though the masters of the Heavenly Court changed several times in later eras, the Queen Mother of the West became a legend. As one of the Three Thousand Guests of the Red Dust in the Purple Firmament Palace, she weathered multiple great kalpas without falling—proof enough of her wisdom.
"Yin Yang, you've played your hand well. The first wisp of primordial yang and the first wisp of primordial yin both took form as your disciples," Li Xinghe said pointedly.
Among the many demon gods of Chaos, aside from Hongjun and Luohu, the Yin Yang Demon God was one of the cleverer ones, knowing to lay his plans in the Primordial World early.
But he was doomed to fail. Queen Mother of the West was a figure of some note, but the East Prince was worthless—stupid as a pig or dog.
"Aren't you laying your own plans? Even daring to protect the Phoenix Clan—aren't you afraid the Heavenly Dao will settle accounts later?" the Yin Yang Demon God said, clearly aggrieved.
Li Xinghe said no more. He glanced at Queen Mother of the West. Forget seizing the peach tree—but grabbing a few fruits wouldn't be too much, would it?
"Queen Mother of the West, I have some Yellow Middle Plum fruits here. I'd like to trade them for some peaches," Li Xinghe said, directly producing the Yellow Middle Plums.
The Yin Yang Demon God ground his teeth in fury. The Yellow Middle Plum was originally meant for his other disciple. Now you've robbed one disciple, and come to my other disciple to trade for peaches—do I have no face left?
Queen Mother of the West took the Yellow Middle Plum and sensed it carefully. She was immediately astonished—this fruit was at least as good as the peach, if not stronger.
Though it had some side effects, for ninety-nine percent of the beings in the Primordial World, they were negligible.
Countless beings filled this world, but those who could reach the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm were one in a billion, and those who could break through to Quasi-Saint from there were even rarer.
"As it happens, the peaches are ripe. This humble woman will fetch them at once." Queen Mother of the West was quick-witted. Seeing the Yin Yang Demon God's expression, she knew he must have suffered a loss at Li Xinghe's hands.
If even her own master couldn't handle him, what chance did she have? She was already grateful that Li Xinghe was willing to trade with Yellow Middle Plums.
"If you don't mind, I would also like some branches. Here is some Three Lights Divine Water to make up for the peach tree's lost essence."
The Yin Yang Demon God didn't dare speak now. As long as his disciple had no objection, that was fine. If he forced the issue and ended up forced to eat dumplings again, he'd be done for.
Seeing Queen Mother of the West grant every request, Li Xinghe was very satisfied. If the Yin Yang Demon God hadn't already taken her as his disciple, he might have considered it himself.
"Yin Yang, you've taken on a fine disciple. But you, as her master, are a bit..." Li Xinghe didn't finish.
Watching him leave, the Yin Yang Demon God itched with rage. I kept my mouth shut, and you still badmouth me in front of my disciple—do I have no face left?
"Disciple, if you ever encounter this thief in the future, stay far away," the Yin Yang Demon God warned.
Queen Mother of the West smiled faintly. She actually found Li Xinghe an interesting person—immensely powerful, yet willing to trade treasures with her.
For her, peaches could grow again once lost. The loss wasn't great—just a matter of more time.
Leaving Kunlun Mountain, Li Xinghe next arrived at Wuzhuang Temple. There was no help for it—Innate Spiritual Roots were few, and even fewer could be found.
By now, Zhenyuanzi had already met his old friend Hongyun.
The two spent their days discussing the Dao under the Ginseng Fruit Tree, knocking down a couple of ginseng fruits to eat whenever they felt like it—a most pleasant life.
The Ginseng Fruit Tree bloomed once every three thousand years, bore fruit once every three thousand years, and took another three thousand years to ripen. Though far inferior to the Yellow Middle Plum, it made up for it in quantity and had no side effects.
Cultivators in the Primordial World thought nothing of secluding themselves for millennia or tens of millennia, so Zhenyuanzi and Hongyun could eat them often.
"Both have great Fortune. A pity!" Li Xinghe appeared directly inside Wuzhuang Temple.
Like Queen Mother of the West, the two were courteous, knowing Li Xinghe was not to be trifled with.
"We failed to welcome the great deity. Please forgive us," Zhenyuanzi and Hongyun said with deep respect.
"No need for formalities. I've come today to trade for some ginseng fruits," Li Xinghe stated his purpose directly.
Zhenyuanzi was the future Ancestor of Earth Immortals, holding the Earth Book. Though he couldn't compare to a Saint, even Saints dared not touch him.
The Earth Book was connected to the entire vein of the Primordial World—prosper together, perish together. Even a Saint couldn't bear that Cause and Effect.
As for Hongyun, he once had the potential to Become a Saint, but his overly kind nature led to his downfall.
Li Xinghe had no conflicts of interest with them, and no need to make enemies.
The Primordial World wasn't all about fighting and killing—it was about human connections and social graces. Who knew if he might need their help someday? Planting a good deed today couldn't hurt.
Zhenyuanzi didn't say much more. Given Li Xinghe's strength, the fact that he was willing to make an exchange at all was already a great show of respect.
He took the initiative to pick the nearly twenty ripe Ginseng Fruits from the tree.
Li Xinghe, in turn, produced a Yellow Middle Plum. Perhaps Zhenyuanzi and Hongyun had no use for it themselves, but they could bestow it upon others in the future.
"I am skilled in divining fate. Zhenyuanzi, I need not say much about you—your Deep Fortune will allow you to guard this Wuzhuang Temple and the Earth Book for countless eons to come."
"As for you, Hongyun, don't offer your seat to anyone from now on, and stay far away from Kunpeng. Mark my words!" Li Xinghe imprinted his warning deep into Hongyun's mind with the Dao Sound.
The two were baffled. Aside from the Three Primal Races, most other Innate Beings were holed up in their own dojos cultivating in seclusion. They didn't even know who Kunpeng was.
As for the matter of giving up one's seat, that was even more cryptic and utterly unfathomable.
"We thank the Great One for the guidance." Regardless, both of them bowed respectfully.
They couldn't see through Li Xinghe's cultivation level; a being of such power wouldn't be joking with them.
"Daoist Hongyun, you must keep this Great One's warning close to your heart at all times, or you may face the danger of falling," Zhenyuanzi urged repeatedly.
With the Peach and Ginseng Fruit in hand, Li Xinghe was thoroughly satisfied. He had even obtained some branches of the Peach Tree.
Among the Ten Great Innate Spiritual Roots, only the Peach Tree could be transplanted. With the Three Lights Divine Water in his possession and the ability to use Time Acceleration, he believed it wouldn't be long before he could enjoy an unlimited supply of Peaches.
