"Ha!" The moment Mike saw Jay, all the hostility built up from dealing with the stubborn door lock vanished from his face. "It really is a small world, isn't it? Look, we only met a few days ago!" As he spoke, he dragged his brown suitcase into the room. Glancing at Jay's luggage scattered everywhere, he could not help but exclaim in surprise, "Heh, you really came prepared. Did you move your entire house here?"
"Uh, my mom insisted all this was necessary." Jay answered casually as he tried to lock the door Mike had violently kicked open. He quickly realized that might be difficult. "You know, you could've just knocked before coming in, right?"
Mike shrugged sheepishly. "Sorry, I didn't know someone was already inside. I was born impatient. My mom says I got it from my dad, and I guess she's right. Since we're going to be roommates for the next few years, you'd better get used to it."
Jay quietly examined the lock with X-Sight and said helplessly, "Well, it was only a little rusty before. It just needed some oil. But now, I'm afraid we'll have to get a new lock."
Mike scratched his head. "Is it that bad?"
"The bolt's broken. It's beyond saving."
"Okay, sorry." Mike looked awkward. "My bad. Impulsiveness is something I was born with. I, uh... I've been trying to improve."
"No, no, it's fine." Jay changed the subject. "Let's deal with the lock first, then go out for dinner while we're at it. If we're going to live here for a few years, we should find out what good food there is around here, right?"
Mike's eyes immediately lit up. "Ha, I checked that out on the way here. There's an amazing place at the
