Hun Xiu intervened when the Buddhist Sect confronted the Demon Kings at Mount Jilei, allowing Tang Xuanzang and his companions to leave. In the present, Sun Wukong killed Demon King and faced replacement by the Six-Eared Macaque, but Hun Xiu protected him and crushed Tathagata’s attack.

• Hun Xiu ordered Sun Wukong to bring Tang Xuanzang to Mount Jilei as a betrothal gift for Niu Xiangxiang, where she instead fell for Hun Xiu and agreed to marry him.
• Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing tried to rescue Tang Xuanzang but were captured alongside him as the Seven Great Sages prepared to eat him.
• Randeng, Maitreya, and Guanyin arrived to confront the Demon Kings, and Randeng battered the Seven Great Sages into a crater.
• Hun Xiu asked the Buddhist figures to give him face, then allowed them to take Tang Xuanzang, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing away.
• Back in the present, Joker put on the Golden Fillet and became Sun Wukong, who defeated and killed Demon King despite Guanyin’s attempt to stop him.
• Guanyin brought the Six-Eared Macaque to replace Sun Wukong, but Hun Xiu protected Sun Wukong, transferred the Golden Fillet to the Macaque, and let the two fight.
• When Tathagata tried to suppress Sun Wukong with a golden hand, Hun Xiu shattered it, forced Tathagata to kneel, and trampled him to the ground.

Hun Xiu entered a new cultivation world, intervened in the lives of Fei Peng’s reincarnation and others, and helped Fei Peng defeat the Evil Sword Immortal. He then changed events in Nanzhao, trained Zhao Ling'er and Li Xiaoyao, and faced the Sword Saint’s warning about the Heavenly Dao.

• Hun Xiu defeated Tathagata, drove him back to Spirit Mountain, and warned Guanyin and the Six-Eared Macaque not to trouble Sun Wukong again.
• Hun Xiu traveled to a new cultivation world, where Fei Peng challenged him before fighting Chonglou and learning that Hun Xiu came from beyond the Six Realms.
• Hun Xiu helped Jing Tian reunite with Long Kui, married Tang Xuejian, exposed Tang Yi and Luo Rulie’s plot, and brought Long Kui and Jing Tian into conflict with Chonglou.
• Hun Xiu trained Jing Tian as Fei Peng’s reincarnation, and Fei Peng briefly took control of Jing Tian’s body to draw the Evil Energy from Shu Mountain’s Demon Suppressing Pagoda.
• After the Evil Energy became the Evil Sword Immortal, Hun Xiu gave Fei Peng a strengthened divine sword and power from the Humanoid Jade Pendant, allowing Fei Peng to defeat the enemy and restore peace.
• Hun Xiu intervened when Baiyue condemned Qing’er, later took Zhao Ling'er to Immortal Spirit Island, and trained her in cultivation.
• Hun Xiu made Li Xiaoyao his disciple, gave him a pill and cultivation technique to save his aunt, then dismissed the Sword Saint’s warning that the Heavenly Dao could not be changed.
