Hun Xiu defeated Heaven’s powers, guided his children through the Journey to the West, and helped Wutian seize the Three Realms before moving on to A Chinese Odyssey. He disrupted the Buddhist Sect’s plans, took control of Sun Wukong’s fate, and left him pursuing Tang Xuanzang and Niu Xiangxiang.

Arc 41Hun Xiu Challenges Heaven

Hun Xiu seized the merit of the Journey to the West, defeated the powers who opposed him, and absorbed them into the renamed Journey to the West. He then made a family with Yao Ji and defeated the Jade Emperor and his allies, leaving the Queen Mother in charge of Heaven while he returned to Soul Manor.

  • Hun Xiu took all the merit after the Journey to the West and killed Tathagata, drawing his True Spirit and those of other powerful figures into the Investiture of the Gods List.
  • Hun Xiu sent Ancestral Dragon and Eastern Sovereign Taiyi back to their own times, then summoned four Saints from the list and confronted Hongjun and the other Saints.
  • Hongjun devoured several Saints, but Hun Xiu bound him and pulled him into the list along with the Saints, Heavenly Dao, Chaos, and the Three Realms, renaming it Journey to the West.
  • Hun Xiu saved Yao Ji from the ruined temple, restored her heart, and built a life with her at Guanjiang Estuary, where they had Hun Jiao, Hun Jian, and Hun Chan.

Arc 42The Journey and Wutian’s Rise

Hun Xiu guided Hun Jian and his siblings through the Journey to the West, then left their world and allied with Wutian as he challenged Tathagata. The arc ended with Wutian and Zhenyuanzi battling over the Sarira, leaving Five Villages Temple and Mount Wanshou destroyed.

  • The Queen Mother imprisoned Yao Ji beneath Peach Mountain and ordered the Five Extremes War Gods to kill her children, but Hun Xiu secretly rescued Hun Jian, Hun Jiao, and Hun Chan and let them endure trials.
  • Hun Jian and his siblings trained under True Person Yuding, joined the Investiture of the Gods, and later defeated Sun Wukong before the monkey was imprisoned beneath Five Elements Mountain.
  • Hun Jian and his siblings joined Tang Xuanzang’s pilgrimage, exposed the Six-Eared Macaque, and completed the Journey to the West, after which Hun Xiu reunited them with Yao Ji and revealed Peach Mountain had been an illusion.

Arc 43Wutian’s Rule and Hun Xiu’s Journey

Hun Xiu helped Wutian defeat Tathagata and claim the Three Realms, then left the Journey to the West Sequel world for A Chinese Odyssey. At Five Peaks Mountain, Hun Xiu encountered Spring Thirteenth Mother, Joker, and White Crystal, while Patriarch Bodhi discovered that a mysterious force was disrupting his plans.

  • Zhenyuanzi traded three Sariras for the Book of Earth, but Wutian kept the book, and Hun Xiu transformed the Sariras into Demonic Beads that strengthened Wutian.
  • Wutian fought Tathagata, Zhenyuanzi, and Sun Wukong at Spirit Mountain, while Hun Xiu secretly made the Black Lotus absorb the gods’ attacks and restore Wutian.

After defeating Tathagata and taking control of Sun Wukong’s fate, Hun Xiu settled Zixia in Silk Web Cave and ordered Sun Wukong to pursue Tang Xuanzang and Niu Xiangxiang.
