Hun Xiu let Sun Wukong take Tang Xuanzang to Mount Jilei, where the Demon Kings prepared to eat him and clashed with the Buddhist Sect. Back in the present, Sun Wukong killed Demon King and resisted Guanyin’s attempt to replace him, until Hun Xiu drove off Tathagata, Guanyin, and the Six-Eared Macaque.

• Hun Xiu secretly followed Sun Wukong to Tang Xuanzang, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing, where Sun Wukong beat Tang Xuanzang unconscious and carried him to Mount Jilei.
• Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing followed to rescue Tang Xuanzang, but Sun Wukong and Demon King captured them as the Demon Kings prepared to eat all three travelers.
• The Seven Great Sages gathered at Mount Jilei, but Randeng, Maitreya, and Guanyin overwhelmed them before Hun Xiu asked the Buddhist figures to take the travelers and leave.
• Hun Xiu returned to the present, where Demon King threatened White Crystal and Joker put on the Golden Fillet, transforming into Sun Wukong.
• Sun Wukong killed Demon King despite Guanyin’s intervention, then fought the Six-Eared Macaque after Guanyin offered him a place on the Journey to the West.
• Hun Xiu stopped the Six-Eared Macaque from killing Sun Wukong, transferred the Golden Fillet to him, and shattered Tathagata’s attempt to suppress Sun Wukong.
• Hun Xiu forced Tathagata to return to Western Heaven Spirit Mountain, then ordered Guanyin and the Six-Eared Macaque to leave and never trouble Sun Wukong again.

Hun Xiu entered a new cultivation world, changed the fate of Jing Tian and Fei Peng, and helped Fei Peng destroy the Evil Sword Immortal. He then intervened in Nanzhao, took Zhao Ling'er as his student, and left the Wine Sword Immortal and the Sword Saint facing Baiyue.

• Hun Xiu entered the new world, encountered Fei Peng, and revealed himself to Heavenly Emperor Fuxi as an existence from beyond the Six Realms.
• Hun Xiu reunited Jing Tian with Long Kui, married Tang Xuejian, exposed Tang Yi and Luo Rulie’s plot, and helped bring Jing Tian’s connection to Fei Peng to light.
• Jing Tian became Hun Xiu’s disciple and went with Xu Changqing to Shu Mountain, where Fei Peng took control of his body and drew the Evil Energy from the Demon Suppressing Pagoda.
• After the Evil Energy became the Evil Sword Immortal, Hun Xiu gave Fei Peng the power to defeat him, and Fei Peng destroyed the enemy and restored peace to the Six Realms.
• Hun Xiu intervened when Baiyue condemned Qing’er, crippled Baiyue’s cultivation, and later took Zhao Ling'er to Immortal Spirit Island to teach her cultivation.
• Hun Xiu made Li Xiaoyao his disciple, gave him a pill to save his aunt, and crippled the Sword Saint after dismissing his warning about changing the Heavenly Dao.
• Baiyue set out to kill the Sword Saint, intercepted him and the Wine Sword Immortal as they fled Immortal Spirit Island, and faced the Wine Sword Immortal’s Sword Control Technique.
