Ice shards swirled through billowing mist, forcing the dark-purple walls of flesh pressing in from all sides back in a wide circle.
The Water God strode out of the water with the flamboyant Illusion Tide · Ice Abyss Scepter slung over his shoulder.
Dawn stared at the staff in the Water God's hand, his eyes wide.
"Where'd you get that thing? Why is the divinity coming off it so terrifying?"
The Water God chuckled, spun the staff, and deliberately thrust the bitterly cold gem at its tip right in front of Dawn's face.
"Take a good look. The Illusion Tide · Ice Abyss Scepter. An Upper Divine Artifact! The guild leader gave it to me himself! You know what that means?"
Dawn was so jealous he nearly ground his molars to dust.
"Damn it! The guild leader plays favorites! I had to bust my ass gathering materials to upgrade this lousy dagger myself!"
"Enough." Night Cherry Tangle cut off their bickering and severed a tentacle trying to ambush them with a sweep of his sword. "Talk after the fight. Night Cherry Tangle paused and looked at the Water God's smug expression.

"Got it!" The Water God waved his staff, water circling his body. "My specialty! It's what I do best!"
Tiga Lingyu wasted no words and strode forward.
Her Dark Gold Tier heavy armor stood out sharply in the dark-purple space. She slammed the Giant Shield in her hand, taller than she was, into the void.
