Background / History
Dies Martin was once a Death Bringer. After the Abyss plotted against Belial and seized the Authority of the Lord of Lies and Deceit, he changed identities and became constrained by Soul Contracts shared with his fellow Death Bringers. He later sought Qin Chuan's help to retrieve those contracts from a location saturated with Shadow Power. 721
As an Abyssal Demon God, Dies Martin initially operated as an unreliable but useful ally of Qin Chuan. He was injured in a conflict with the Beast God, concealed the severity of those injuries, and warned Qin Chuan that the Death Bringers would be occupied with Abyss affairs. 179
He later proposed that Dragon Soaring World's betrayal become the first test of Qin Chuan's new order. His resulting Atonement Trial required Dragon Soaring World to survive a thousand lethal contract traps within seventy-two hours. 401 493
Qin Chuan eventually assigned Dies Martin a formal role in the Divine Kingdom's structure: the Thousand Faces Gambit. The trial legitimizes deception as a means of exposing flaws in other systems, rewarding successful exploits while forcing the deceived system to correct its loopholes. 495
After devouring the Lord of Lies and Illusions, Dies Martin rose to High God status and began rebuilding the fallen deity's pantheon from purified law fragments. 673
Witnessing Qin Chuan's civilization-centered divine system changed Dies Martin's ambitions. He came to see that Qin Chuan was not merely raising followers, but forging a self-sustaining divine civilization; Dies Martin then resolved to create a comparable system in the Abyss under his own rule. 1409
Appearance
Dies Martin's appearance is unstable and often shaped by his Deception Power. His incarnations may be formed from lies, illusions, shadows, or dark-purple mist rather than maintaining a fixed body. 367 1498
- Often manifests with a frivolous or teasing expression. 367
- Has dark-purple pupils when appearing in a human-like form. 1498
- Sometimes appears in an immaculate formal dress while holding red wine. 1498 1505
- His combat form is described as tall and burly, radiating an evil aura. 1066
- His Divine Power Incarnations can become visibly distorted when emotionally unsettled. 217 495
Personality
Dies Martin is cunning, theatrical, opportunistic, and intensely amused by manipulation. He habitually treats conflicts as games or experiments, exploits ambition and fear, and rarely offers help without expecting leverage in return. His reputation for stinginess and predatory bargaining is well established even in his exchanges with Qin Chuan. 179 726 1131
Despite his deceptive nature, he is capable of frankness when cooperation requires it. He openly explained the danger surrounding the Soul Contracts, admitted his former identity as a Death Bringer, and acknowledged Qin Chuan as a teammate he could trust. 721 962 1207
His ambition is tempered by pragmatism. Though he desires to rule the Abyss, he recognizes its disorder, distrusts its demon gods, and understands that his Authority of Lies is poorly suited to prolonged frontal warfare. 1409 1564
Abilities & Skills
Authority of Deception
Dies Martin's primary authority manipulates perception, creates illusions, and undermines opponents' ability to distinguish reality from falsehood.
- Creates Deception Runes that disorient targets, disrupt internal power control, and produce false paths or perceptions. 856
- Manipulated undead and abyssal gods into believing that the Lightbringers were targeting them, causing them to attack the Lightbringers. 963
- Can conceal actions and create openings for allies, including Yingluo Yezakura's infiltration of the sea battlefield. 252
- Can form a battlefield-scale shell of fraud around the Origin Realm, though he could sustain it for only ten seconds. 1613
- Is less effective against direct suppression by Light Laws and opponents with extreme conviction or fanaticism. 805
Deception Runes
He deploys countless small runes across a battlefield to gather intelligence and weave traps.
- Prepared a deception net that trapped Lord of the Bone Abyss Ortros and threw his senses into chaos. 856
- Uses runes to warp routes, distort retreats, and interfere with an enemy's energy circulation. 856
- Can coordinate rune-based deception with the Night Lady's concealment for ambushes. 607 856
Contracts and Empowerment
Dies Martin binds and recruits mortals through contracts, granting power while taking a measure of their freedom.
- Offered Bruno the role of Spokesperson and apostle-level power through a Parchment Scroll. 755
- Granted Bruno substantial power after Bruno signed the contract, enabling him to defeat a Strange Beast Lord. 920
- Can possess or speak through Bruno's body, using him as a channel to influence others. 252
- Created the Atonement Trial's contract traps for Dragon Soaring World. 493
Demon Summoning
Dies Martin can open Dark Portals and deploy demonic forces.
- Summoned repeated waves of demons into the Eternal Royal Palace through Dark Portals. 964
- Used demon deployment as part of an attempted conquest of the Eternal Royal Palace. 964
Soul and Infernal Combat
Though deception is his defining power, Dies Martin can fight directly with demonic and soul-based techniques.
- Cast Soul Hunting Net against the Lord of the Bone Abyss's Soul Law. 1067
- Commands hellfire, sulfur, magma, and molten constructs in battle. 1067
- Expanded a demon-filled divine kingdom of smoke and sulfur to clash directly with the Lord of the Bone Abyss's divine kingdom. 1067
- Considers frontal combat a weakness of the Authority of Lies when facing overwhelming numbers. 1564
Trials
- Thousand Faces Gambit — A deception-focused trial open to all players, designed to test every other system by rewarding successful deception and exposing exploitable loopholes. 495
- Atonement Trial — A malicious contract trial imposed on Dragon Soaring World after his betrayal, built around a thousand deadly traps and a seventy-two-hour limit. 493
Relationships
- Qin Chuan / Shadow — Ally, business partner, and frequent verbal sparring partner. Dies Martin trusts Qin Chuan's strength but remains wary of his schemes and bargaining tactics. 721 962 1499
- Bruno — Dies Martin's chosen Spokesperson. He recruited Bruno through a parchment contract, granted him power, and directly manages him. 124 755 920
- Night Lady / Aleisa — Ally and battlefield collaborator. They coordinated to trap Ortros, with the Night Lady striking after Dies Martin destabilized him with deception. 856
- Dragon Soaring World — Subject of Dies Martin's Atonement Trial and an early test case for the laws of betrayal and atonement. 401 493
- Death Bringers — Former brethren bound alongside Dies Martin by Soul Contracts; their gathering is necessary to locate and reclaim those contracts. 721
- Lord of the Bone Abyss / Ortros — Enemy. Dies Martin trapped Ortros with Deception Runes and later fought him directly with Qin Chuan's support. 856 1066 1067
- Abyss Lords Glato, Kalash, and Lilith — Subjugated prospects. Dies Martin intimidated them into submission and tempted them with Sin Karma and the promise of evolution. 1425 1426

Early Alliance and Abyss Conflicts
Dies Martin serves as one of Qin Chuan's earliest god-level allies, though his self-interest and deceptive nature make Qin Chuan consistently cautious. Ambition to Rule the Abyss
After recognizing the value of Qin Chuan's divine-system model, Dies Martin attempts to build a loyal, controllable power base in the Abyss. He uses Sin Karma to entice Abyss Lords, but Qin Chuan repeatedly redirects his schemes toward larger plans, including luring out the Envy Sin God's true body. 1409 1423 1449
Abyss Decision-Maker Deal
Qin Chuan offers to help Dies Martin become the Abyss's decision-maker in exchange for seventy percent of its special mineral veins, high-grade Abyss crystals, and rare Law Fragments. Dies Martin accepts despite recognizing the deal's harsh terms. 1499 1500
Trivia
