Back home, Uchiha Kiyoshi began processing the bull-like beast's corpse. He separated the meat from its body, set up a grill, and started roasting it.

"Mm, pretty tasty. It's just missing seasoning. I'll buy some next time."

Uchiha Kiyoshi ate his fill, packed the remaining meat into plastic bags, then used Chakra to extract all the air inside and seal them for storage.

After Hei 7 left, Danzo fell into deep thought.

He knew of Uchiha Kiyoshi. To be honest, Uchiha Kiyoshi had some talent, not to mention that he was from the Uchiha Clan. If he could be brought into Root, he could at least become a Jonin, giving Danzo another capable subordinate. But that fearful personality of his had made Danzo give up on the idea.

It was not as though Danzo had no way to pull him into Root. He could act first and report afterward; after paying a certain price, could the Uchiha Clan really break with him completely? It was not as if Danzo had never done such things before. Hadn't the other ninja clans all been dealt with this way?

Otherwise, where did he think Danzo's title as the Darkness of the Ninja World had come from?

An hour later, Hei 7 returned to the dark underground space.

He reported, "Lord Danzo, this subordinate followed the trail and found the location where Uchiha Kiyoshi hunted the beast. I also analyzed the scene and made a conjecture regarding the course of the battle.

That was the situation. Other than being struck due to carelessness at the very end, he suffered no injuries throughout the process. Judging from the traces at the scene, Uchiha Kiyoshi had not been attacked by the beast before that."

After hearing Hei 7's report, Danzo waved his hand and dismissed him.

Meanwhile, the Hokage's side was taking similar action.

The cat-masked Anbu ninja—the same one who had investigated Uchiha Kiyoshi before—was standing below and presenting his deductions.

"By the way, traces of a Root ninja were also found at the scene. They should have arrived earlier to investigate."

The Third Hokage had been calm, but when he heard about Root's traces, he frowned.
