At Lingxu Grotto-Heaven, Fang Qing and the others obtained the opening passages of the Dao Scripture.
Elder Wu Qingfeng personally explained the contents of the Dao Scripture to Fang Qing, Ye Fan, and Pang Bo.
The opening passages of the Dao Scripture were not long, amounting to only a few thousand words. Yet the content contained within those few thousand words was exceptionally profound. Every sentence held deep meaning, and every contemplation brought new insight.
Even a peerless expert who obtained these opening passages would sigh after reading them, realizing that even foundational cultivation could be so wondrous and profound.
To thoroughly comprehend the Dao Scripture was an exceedingly difficult task. The sages of every generation likely would not dare pat their chests and claim they had fully understood it.
Moreover, one could discern a person's aptitude from how beginners comprehended the Dao Scripture.
Some beginners needed three to five months just to barely understand the most basic principles. They were considered rather dull. Ordinary beginners took a little over a month to grasp the foundational principles of the Dao Scripture, which was entirely normal.
Of course, there were also geniuses who could understand some of its principles within ten-odd days and step onto the path of cultivation.
No matter what, comprehending the meaning within the Dao Scripture was the first thing every cultivator had to do.
As Fang Qing listened to Wu Qingfeng's explanation of the Dao Scripture, he found that its meaning did not seem particularly difficult to understand. Those supposedly mysterious and profound principles, words comparable to advanced physics and mathematics, did not seem all that difficult in his eyes.
When Wu Qingfeng asked whether the three of them understood, Pang Bo's usual answer was that he was still a little short of understanding, while Fang Qing's answer was that he understood.
Wu Qingfeng had some doubts about Fang Qing's answer of "I understand," so he personally tested him. To his immense shock, Fang Qing truly understood.
"I never expected such a peerless genius to emerge from this batch of prospects. He seems even more gifted than Weiwei of our Lingxu Grotto-Heaven!"
Wu Qingfeng's heart was filled with shock. Back when Weiwei had entered Lingxu Grotto-Heaven, he had also taught her. At the time, Weiwei had spent around five days reading the most basic text before saying she understood it. Yet Fang Qing had studied for less than half a day and already claimed to understand—and he truly did understand!
Such talent was truly terrifying!
If he were nurtured like this, would Lingxu Grotto-Heaven not produce another peerless genius like Weiwei, perhaps one even more peerless than Weiwei?
Weiwei was Lingxu Grotto-Heaven's peerless genius. Though she was still young, her Cultivation Level had already far surpassed that of most elders. That was why Lingxu Grotto-Heaven had decided to send Weiwei to Yaoguang Holy Land in a few days. Only within that Holy Land could Weiwei continue to grow.
Now, another peerless genius was about to emerge from Lingxu Grotto-Heaven!
Wu Qingfeng devoted most of his energy to Fang Qing. Of course, this was not favoritism. Ye Fan and Pang Bo still needed to carefully ponder the meaning of the text he had explained. These two prospects had never entered the path of cultivation before, so some concepts and ways of thinking had to be changed gradually.
Fang Qing, however, was different. He had an excellent memory, a steady mindset, and a strong ability to comprehend principles.
Then the pace should be accelerated.
This was teaching according to aptitude.
While Ye Fan and Pang Bo were still studying the earlier passages, Fang Qing began studying the later passages of the Dao Scripture under Elder Wu Qingfeng's guidance. The individual characters appeared plain and unremarkable when separated, yet when combined, they expounded countless principles.
If Fang Qing's Cultivation Level had not already reached the Innate Realm through the Longevity Art, allowing him to remain connected to heaven and earth at all times and receive the blessing of the Bodhi Seed's supreme wisdom, he truly would have needed much more time to comprehend them.
Now, though, it was perfectly normal for his rate of comprehension to be dozens or even hundreds of times faster than others'.
Fang Qing spent two days comprehending every word of the Dao Scripture.
Next, he was about to take the most crucial step.
This step was to sense his own Wheel of Life, then guide his vital essence to strike at the Bitter Sea.
Naturally, the Dao Scripture contained an extremely wondrous sensing method for this step, allowing beginners to embark upon the path of sensing the Wheel of Life.
However, this step was also the most time-consuming.
Even after beginners first read the Dao Scripture, it was exceedingly difficult for them to skillfully employ the sensing method recorded within it.
Most beginners needed one or two months to sense the Wheel of Life. Those with talent needed more than ten days before they could sense it.
Wu Qingfeng was very curious about when Fang Qing would sense the Wheel of Life, and he was somewhat looking forward to it.
"Sensing the Wheel of Life? This does not seem very difficult."
Fang Qing sat cross-legged and followed the sensing method recorded in the Dao Scripture to sense his Wheel of Life.
As he circulated the Dao Scripture's sensing method, Fang Qing also activated his Inner Vision to feel for the Wheel of Life within his body.
Inner Vision.
This was an ability Fang Qing had gained after entering the Innate Realm. He could use his spiritual power to sense his body's internal organs.
A person standing outside his own body, perceiving himself.
It was a miraculous experience.
Yet it truly existed.
Fang Qing circulated the two methods, one for himself and one for his body. Before long, he sensed his Wheel of Life.
At the location of his Wheel of Life, vast amounts of true qi were still flowing about. They had been cultivated through the Longevity Art.
"The Purple Haze Skill of the martial arts world and the Longevity Art of the Great Tang World both follow the same core principles: Refining Essence into Qi, Refining Qi into Spirit, Refining Spirit to Void, and Refining Void to Dao. It is just that most martial artists spend their entire lives on the path of Refining Essence into Qi and cannot achieve Refining Qi into Spirit. In worlds like Fengyun World, however, martial artists can cultivate to the stage of Refining Qi into Spirit and form things such as sword dao Primordial Spirits."
Fang Qing looked at the abundant true qi within his lower dantian and considered some of the similarities and differences between what he had learned and the methods of the Shrouding Heavens Realm.
From the perspective of Refining Essence into Qi, the initial cultivation of martial artists in martial arts worlds was actually quite similar to the Shrouding the Heavens Method. Both made use of the lower dantian.
The difference was that martial artists emphasized transforming acquired essence into their own essence, then into true qi and astral qi, storing it within the lower dantian. The Shrouding the Heavens Method, meanwhile, sensed the lower dantian, guided vital essence, struck at the Bitter Sea, and opened the gateway.
One stored it there, while the other opened a larger passage.
From this perspective, the Shrouding the Heavens Method naturally held greater value for cultivation.
Yet in the early stages, the similarities between the two methods were enough to give Fang Qing many advantages.
Thus, Fang Qing circulated the vast true qi he had cultivated and struck at the Bitter Sea.
Three days after entering this world and beginning his cultivation path, he successfully advanced into the Bitter Sea realm.
