Background

Ye Fan was the class monitor of Fang Qing’s former classmates on Earth. At their Mount Tai reunion, Fang Qing recognized him as the world’s protagonist; when Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin descended, Fang Qing took Ye Fan with him through the falling dragon corpses. The two then discussed the possibility that the coffin was carrying them toward a world where immortality could be cultivated. 3 6 7

At Lingxu Grotto-Heaven, Ye Fan’s Ancient Desolate Sacred Body initially made even basic cultivation prohibitively resource-intensive. He consumed more than a dozen bottles of Hundred Herb Liquid without sensing the Wheel of Life, until Fang Qing secured and supplied additional bottles, allowing him to enter the Bitter Sea Realm. 40

After a year apart, Ye Fan returned to Fang Qing with Pang Bo at the Other Shore Realm.
