The speeding army advanced along the flat roads.

A voice spoke quickly from deep within the army.
"According to the original plan, all mecha from the First to Third Battalions will follow me directly. We'll take the skies over the city straight to the Crown District. We don't have much time left. That bastard Christos is cunning and treacherous; he may not meekly await his fate."
A calm, icy voice rang out in the darkness. "The remaining main force will be commanded by the Staff Department. The mechanical units and small mecha units will seize control of the highways first and clear a route for the main force. We'll rendezvous at the Radiant Palace."
His voice rose slightly, carrying an inspiring tone. "After tonight, you will all be the generals who conquered Dawn City. History will remember our names."
"Understood!"
A unified response came from the darkness.
As the voice fell silent, densely packed Hell Apostle Mecha burst out from the army like a swarm of bees, speeding south through the gaps between glittering skyscrapers.
Wailing sirens and rapid gunfire rang out from the streets below.
The city police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation had arrived to try to stop the army below, but all they could do was throw eggs against a rock.
Roaring tanks rolled directly over the vehicles blocking their way, speeding onward amid the harsh screech of violently twisting metal.
Soon, the gunfire fell silent, leaving only piercing sirens echoing throughout the city.
