"What do you mean?" Wei Jinna's eyes widened slightly. "Someone in Aines deliberately kept my permissions? Is the struggle over in Aines really that complicated?"
"Judging by your little 'speech' just now," He Ao said with a quiet laugh as he looked at her, "you said you could handle the suspension yourself. I thought you had been prepared for it, or at least knew something."
"When the team takes a hit, the leader is the one who must not panic. I understand that much," Wei Jinna said slowly. "These youngsters may be full of passion, but it is actually hard for them to make much of a splash within the Federal Bureau of Investigation system. If I lose my composure, they will panic along with me. Then we will not be able to get anything done."
She looked at He Ao and smiled. "First stabilize the team's mindset so everyone can maintain basic unity. We can slowly think of a solution afterward."
"Very wise." He Ao nodded with a smile.
The more dangerous the crisis, the calmer one had to be.
Just as Wei Jinna had said, those young agents could actually do very little on their own. They each had families, and although they trusted Wei Jinna now, trust built over only a day or two was not all that solid.
Let those agents remain at their posts and continue advancing the previous investigation according to Wei Jinna's arrangements.
This approach remained within the rules. It neither harmed the agents' own interests nor failed to inflict ongoing damage and pressure on the consortium. It was indeed the best choice for now.
The people behind this had suspended Wei Jinna partly because they wanted to stop the investigation. If the investigation continued anyway, the suspension would have little effect.
