The activated Plasma Cannon struck the bundle of energy batteries on the Hell Apostle Mecha almost the instant it charged into the Sky Behemoth's main cannon.

The violent battery explosion shattered the balance of the high-energy particle stream inside the Sky Behemoth's charged main cannon, which was just about to fire.

An even more brilliant explosion erupted from the massive cannon muzzle. The howling heat wave was like a violent gale, blasting the pure-white mecha away like an out-of-control paper airplane.

Seated in the violently shaking main control room, He Ao yanked hard on the controls, using the wind to send the mecha backward and away from the heart of the explosion.

In truth, he had not expected this strike to succeed so cleanly.

Vian did not have the Sky Behemoth's blueprints, but he had seen the same model of giant compressed Plasma Cannon installed on it. The Adam 1 Type's main cannon had drawn upon the design of this kind of weapon.

He Ao's charge toward the main cannon had actually been extremely dangerous. Cannons of this type all had safety return-flow systems to defend against attacks on the cannon itself.

If he had been one second earlier, before the main cannon had finished charging, the explosion of the Plasma Cannon and High Performance Batteries would have triggered the cannon's safety return-flow system, dispersing the energy filling the cannon and preventing it from exploding.

If he had been one second later, after the main cannon had finished charging and fired, he would have been struck head-on as he charged toward it. With a C-Class body, being hit directly by the Sky Behemoth's main cannon would not even have left a corpse behind.

Even a Rank B, if their defense was not strong enough, would at least have been gravely
