There were two things in this world one should never turn back for: fear and love. Obsessing over either would only bring pain. Moving forward was an easier way to live.

British wizards actually had godfathers. Pure-bloods attributed the custom to tradition, or perhaps it was a means by which wizards hid among Muggles.

Other Muggle-born wizards, meanwhile, felt nothing strange about it at all. They had already forgotten the witch hunts of the Middle Ages.

Pomona had once held prejudices against the Church as well. This trip through Europe had broadened her horizons considerably. At the very least, the Church tried to distinguish those falsely accused, like Kepler's mother.
