The boys worked even more efficiently than Pomona had expected. They not only turned the doghouse into a ballroom, but also altered the structure of the manor. The floor of the room above the study had been made to vanish, and bookshelves packed with books lined the walls from the first floor all the way to the attic. The walls had also been painted Tiffany Blue, making it look a little like Ravenclaw's common room at first glance.
What drew the eye most, however, was the enormous astronomical telescope in the center of the study. If it had not been made of brass, Pomona might have thought they had dismantled a Muggle observatory's telescope.
Many star charts floated around the telescope, slowly rotating in a fixed pattern.
The new furniture in the sitting room and study was all Neoclassical in style, and looked exceptionally elegant.
The old fireplace had been raised and widened, large enough for two people to stand inside. Beside it stood two statues, the very ones that had been placed in the room overrun by plants.
The renovated room had excellent lighting and could serve as a reception room. The cabinets had even been stocked with porcelain, so afternoon tea could be served here.
"They're all copies," Severus said as Pomona toured the study. "I still have the original books. It wouldn't matter if these burned."
Pomona glanced at him, running her fingers over the furniture that had come from who knew where.
The sitting room and study looked like the home of a Ravenclaw astrologer. The former workshop had been concealed, its entrance hidden behind one of the bookshelves.
