Harry Potter was much smaller than others his age. He had a thin face, jet-black hair, and emerald-green eyes. More importantly, he was nearsighted. At such a young age, he already wore a battered pair of round spectacles because his cousin always liked punching him in the nose.

Although James was nearsighted too, nearsightedness was not hereditary. So how had Harry become nearsighted?

"They made him live in a cupboard!" Minerva said loudly on the silent, snow-covered paths of Hogsmeade, barely able to control her emotions. "Can you believe it? They actually made a boy live in a cupboard!"

"That's unbelievable," Pomona said, nodding.

"There was no light in that cupboard, never mind television!" Minerva pulled her cloak tighter around herself. "They never took Harry to visit the Potters, nor did they ever take a single photograph of him, as if he had never existed in that house."

"That's utterly outrageous," Pomona said angrily.

"They never bought him anything, yet they bought that fat boy a box," Minerva said.

Pomona was a little confused.

"What sort of box?"

"About this big." Minerva gestured with both hands. "It showed pictures like a television, but it had a piano keyboard in front of it."

Pomona still did not understand what Minerva meant.

"It was expensive," Minerva said. "Far too expensive for a child's toy."

"I thought you knew why Albus sent Harry away," Pomona said.

Minerva seemed to find it difficult to explain, when a sharp crack came from the woods.

"Who's there?" Minerva shouted.

No one answered.

"Maybe the snow broke a branch," Pomona said.

"I saw you." Minerva raised her wand. "Don't make me act."

After quite a while, long enough for Pomona to think Minerva was being overly suspicious, a girl emerged from the Forbidden Forest with her hands
