Pomona climbed the stairs with the young man. After about two minutes, she began to feel tired, and her breathing grew heavy without her noticing.
"Too late, too late!"
As she spoke, Pomona set the ingredients on the kitchen table.
First, she took out the apples and placed them on a plate to one side, then set the food she had brought from the Hogwarts kitchen on the other.
While she was busy, someone picked up an apple and started biting into it.
"Don't rush. There aren't many people tonight," Sirius said as he chewed his apple. "James and Lily went home for dinner just now."
Pomona froze for a moment.
"It's just you and me here," Sirius said with a smile. He then found himself a seat in the dining room, propped his legs on the table, and continued eating his apple.
"Damn it, why didn't anyone tell me?" Pomona complained. She no longer hurried to prepare dinner, though she did not have the nerve to sit at the dining table either.
Sirius no longer wore school robes. His clothes were much more casual now. In truth, someone who looked like him would look good in anything, even a simple T-shirt printed with a Phoenix design, though it made him look rather like the lead singer of a rock band.
"I didn't know where to go to notify you," Sirius said. "What was your name again?"
Pomona gave a cold laugh, took out a beef pie, and set it on the table, sharing dinner with the "famous" Sirius Black.
"Why didn't you go to James's for dinner?" Pomona asked coldly.
"Someone needs to stay behind here. Besides, they need time alone," Sirius said expressionlessly. "Pregnant women are always emotionally unstable."
