When Pomona returned to the house they shared, she saw Sirius Black playing a game of toss and catch with a baby on the living room sofa.
She had never seen this child before, but she had never seen Sirius like this either. He seemed to have turned into a toddler himself.
"Whose child is this?" Pomona asked instinctively.
"Not whose child," Sirius said excitedly, stopping the tossing. "He's my godson!"
"Since when did you become a godfather?" Pomona looked at the childish Sirius.
"Yesterday! James and Lily asked me to be!" Sirius held up the baby, turning his green eyes toward her.
"So this is Harry?" Pomona asked.
"Yes!" Sirius turned little Harry back toward himself.
"How did he end up here?" Pomona asked.
"James and Lily have something to do, so they asked me to look after him for a day," Sirius said.
Pomona more or less understood. The two of them needed some "private time."
Lily had not really wanted a child that badly in the first place, only...
"Pfft, pfft." Harry blew bubbles at his godfather.
Sirius had a dog's sharp sense of smell. He immediately pushed James Potter's son away from him.
"Are you going to change his diaper?" Pomona said coldly from the side.
"I don't know how," Sirius said, looking at Harry with a disgusted expression.
"What's that big bag over there?" Pomona asked, looking at the huge bundle in one corner of the living room.
"Probably Harry's toys," Sirius said.
"I'd guess it's diapers... You should open it and take a look." Pomona looked at Harry's disposable diaper. It was already sagging from all the liquid it had absorbed.
