"Why are you here?"

Pomona heard Sirius's questioning voice and immediately opened her eyes.

She looked around and realized she was neither in her office at school nor in the greenhouse.

Then she remembered.

She had wanted to find somewhere without children endlessly roughhousing, somewhere she could truly rest. Since the term began in September, the castle had been full of little trolls running about.

A baby's crying interrupted her thoughts. She opened her bedroom door and heard voices downstairs. Sirius was talking to someone else.

Before she could make out their words, however, a door slammed. Harry's crying still had not stopped.

She really did not want to hear that sound anymore, so she turned to go back to sleep.

"Perhaps you should make a different choice," a voice said.

As though hypnotized, she went downstairs and soon reached the sitting room. Then she saw Remus Lupin coming out of his room with his luggage.

Compared with his school days, Remus looked thinner and paler. He wore a somewhat worn coat, but he still managed a smile for her.

"Are you leaving now?" Pomona asked.

"I've found a new place to stay," Remus said awkwardly.

Just then, Harry began crying even louder.

They could not help growing worried. When they entered the sitting room, they found Sirius holding Harry awkwardly, his patience nearly exhausted.

"Don't hold him like that!" Remus put down his luggage and rushed over to take Harry from Sirius's arms.

The werewolf gently supported the baby's fragile neck with his hand, something Sirius had overlooked.

Nestled in Remus's arms, Harry soon stopped crying.

"Where did you learn that trick?" Pomona asked, looking at Remus in amazement.

Remus did not answer Pomona's question. He kept staring at Sirius.
