After the Eloise Mintumble incident in 1899, the Ministry of Magic announced the end of time-travel experiments, and all Time-Turners were sealed away.

After the Battle of the Ministry, the only Time-Turner still barely functional was the one Hermione had used. It was now kept in Hogwarts' Room of Requirement, under layers of magical protection.

Aside from Hogwarts, Gringotts was the safest place in the world. Yet it had still been broken into in 1991, the target being Vault 713, where the Sorcerer's Stone had once been kept.

Only Goblins knew the exact location of every vault. Even though Vault 711 and Vault 713 had nearby numbers, their actual locations might have been far apart. Eloise Mintumble turned her Time-Turner in London in 1899, but she did not return precisely to London in 1402. Instead, she ended up in Ankara, a thousand miles away.

According to the Novikov self-consistency principle, time travel did not actually change anything. Everything travelers did merely caused the events they had noticed before making the journey.

Hermione and Harry had not prevented Sirius and Buckbeak from dying; Sirius and Buckbeak had always been meant to survive. The "blood of innocents" had not been shed by them, but by the Werewolf Lupin. Buckbeak had clawed him while protecting Harry and Hermione.
